Sigh just sigh

Agreed, but then again we both know we shouldnt debate this :P

I just want Tsar to realise that he might just be swopping one set of issues for another set. Like I said there is good parts and bad parts all over. Yes the type of crime here is more horrific, more mindless but I believe it has more to do with the people and their lack of education, respect and honour than anything else.

I think it has to do with their leaders always telling them its the whites fault they are poor and they must take action a lot of crime here is very hate based there in the uk its more thugish than anything else. I understand there is crime every where and you need to be on your guard and not go to the dodgy places. But remember I am joining the army :p and where my mom and brother are moving to is safe. My issues is mainly family and just get away from a lot of people I know.

I am lucky though I will be moving with my mom and brother to her husband who has a house in england and earns a decent amount. But Trust me I know whats it like to struggle. And as for the pie in a can my mom finds that fascinating.

I think what everyone is trying to get at is that there is Crime everywhere, there always will be.

In most crime fields SA is just alot worse.

Crime is everywhere yes, the big problem in sa is that its almost always involves violence, or just is a act of violence.

The biggest issue is we are being stripped of our rights to defend ourselves, someone breaks into your house you feel threatened and take action and you get into trouble for it

I understand what you saying but I mean there are better opportunities there than here. I do get labeled a foreigner here because I don't look south african and got kicked out a bar because of that. But every where has bad places you just wouldn't go to. Except here even in the good areas you will get targeted. I mean here the police rape people or arrest you for no reason and take you valuables(happened to a few of my friends.)

Here's the thing dude- as everyone already said, there's crime everywhere. You can't run from your problems. People always try doing that, but it will never work. I've been to the UK a few times and it's pretty much a shithole with a couple of nice places. Basically a mud island of misery. And their government is a bit of a joke. Almost like ours. But the point is, you can't run from your problems, and you most certainly cannot run from crime. And if you're running from crime and bad things, well then dude, you're going to be in for a surprise when you go to war, because that's where hell happens.

Have you read what I said? I am getting away from my family and certain people in this country
You might think its a shit hole but I know a lot of people say otherwise. Except their goverment isn't saying kill the boer and take their land  As for war atleast you trained and can defend yourself here if you defend yourself you end up in prison.

I do like miserable weather.

I have read all the posts you made. I don't just reply to stuff without reading man. :)

You are running away from things that are lesser evils than the things you are running to. And I'm not judging you, you're entitled to do as you please- it's your life. I'm just delivering my opinion, that's all.

I know but I am not enjoying life here at all. And I will have opportunities with the royal marines.

The difference, and it's been said countless times, is the level of barbarity and savagery when crime is committed here. I have over 40 family members in the UK and I think at last count, 1 of them had been severely assaulted and 2 burgled. My friends and family here in comparison is mind blowing. Countless times more incidents and every single one of them vicious.

Yes everywhere has crime but I will, at the drop of a hat, take the UK's crime over ours.

Exactly. Some people don't like england and other people love it.
Atleast there you don't fear the police.

Sorry to hear about what happened Insanity. I can relate somewhat in that my family was held up at home while I was on holiday in the UK. I just thank God that they weren't hurt.
I'll keep your GF and the rest of her household in my prayers, counselling is definitely important it really helps with understand the emotions and even how reliving/retelling the experience can physically affect you too. Don't be afraid to go for counselling yourself, although you weren't there it's a traumatising experience when those close to you are harmed.

Funny that, I've never been happier and happen to think my back yard is beautiful.

And while the government here is far from perfect they do at least manage to root out corruption and have managed to get unemployment down to 7.2% (Versus 25.2% in SA) and Inflation down to 1.7% (Versus the 5.3% in SA) so yeah, not perfect but not bad either.
