Stealth games

I am not sure if I am the only one right now but for some reason I can't play stealthy.

Mark of the ninja nope just run and slash them all to bits.
Disonered pistol is my best friend and when I try playing stealthy I get bored and rush in and just kill everything.
Payday 2 lets go in loud and shoots all the cops, sure have run my share of stealth all the way trough jobs.

Anyone else having this problem where as you just can't seem to focus on a game.

Stealth games are the best, but they don't make them at all like they used to.

The old thief games and the old splinter cell games focused properly on stealth but now they put in these alternative options which dilutes the stealth aspect so much and takes so much suspense and enjoyment out of the game.

I love playing stealthy in games, but only in games that do it really well, like the Thief series and Dishonored. Mark of the Ninja was also a lot of fun.

I really have to be in the mood for it though, if I'm not I just get annoyed when I'm spotted and quit the game.

If the game has stealth and it's a good stealth system then I play stealth. If I get caught and it turns into a bloodbath then I usually just reset and try again.

I usually like to go for never being detected at all, it's quite satisfying.

Awe! One of my favourite genres. Splinter Cell 1&2 did this best along with Thief and Deus Ex. I love these games but what really gets to me is to find a stealth that actually pulls this off properly.

I cannot play stealth games. I tried it when playing dishonored, i only successfully sneaked once i upgraded that sneak kill that destroys the body.

When they include 'alternative' action ways then I always feel so tempted to run through blasting every thing that moves. It kinda ruins the game for me when I do that though.

I love stealth games. Think Tenchu 2 got me hooked. I'll restart a level even if i'm spotted right at the end before completing the mission.

So thief is coming out soon Feb next year :D

What do you think will it be more action or more stealth really liked the old thief type style but because of a game breaking bug I could never finish the game and have not gone back to it.

The new thief looks really bad to be honest. They have made it more available to 'modern audiences'. It looks set to be a huge disappointment.

I'm not going to hold my breath, but I'm also not going to shoot it down until I've had an opportunity to try it for myself. For all we know it could be a lot of fun, or it could be a miserable failure.

I agree, I will definitely try it out before putting it on the guillotine; BUT from what I have seen and read, it does not look very positive.

I'm looking forward to this, it hasn't been polished off yet, they are still working on AI and such, Eidos Montreal delivers quality, look at DX:HR, it was an awesome game(except for the boss fights), they just didn't graphically wow me(but thief looks great, especially the next-gen/ high end PC build), but the new trailer looks amazing for thief, can't wait to play it, almost everything that pisses people off about the game can be turned off, what people don't get is a complete new generation of people have never played these types of games if you make it the same as the old thief games, a lot of people will just day 1 sell it back because they don't understand what the hell to do, you need to lure them in gently, for us old school guys, we can just turn off all the crap and enjoy what they've tried to do with it, instead of just heaving off about some changes, sure garrett looks like a tool, he doesn't sound as badly as everyone is making it out, just because stephen russell was well stephen russell at his best, doesn't mean we should just off the new guy about some off handed comments he will make in the game. damn people bitching these days about everything, remember sam fisher's voice being changed? and EVERYONE moaned???? remember that? I read everywhere about how awesome blacklist was and not one person said, it's a great game but where is the voice(well not 1 player, some random journalists still bitched :p ) anyway, I reckon it's going to be very Thief-like, and play really well, I love the quickstep move, it's going to be a great addition to the stealth gameplay. I implore everyone to just be open minded and not a whiny ass little spoiled brat that hangs on to nostalgia or that god awful looking dark mod....it is a reboot(with the spirit and core of thief), enjoy it as such...rant over *throws mic*

If you want to get into the Stealth genre, then you need to start playing some Metal Gear Solid. By the time you are halfway through 2, the thought of having to engage in actual heated combat will sicken you. Makes you start to consider the different facets of conflict that don't necessarily result in bloodshed.

Love it. Its just more rewarding to dismantle the defenses present with surgical precision.

The last trailer actually looked pretty decent I thought.

I'm also looking forward to the new Thief. Although reserving judgement would be the smart thing to do. We have all been burned by reboot expectations before. So let's just wag and see

Crzwaco to you my friend it's fun and not that hard, and Hitman Absolution is also good
