Steam Sales to abandon daily deals and flash sales

Steam sales will no longer consist of Daily Deals and Flash Sales; instead, all games will sport their maximum discount from start to end.

That's assuming publishers will make their discounts as big as they would have for flash and daily deals. We'll probably never know for sure if they don't.

I dunno, it will mean the store gets bombarded by traffic the first day afyer which it will die down and loads of impulse buys will never happen... I loved the incentive to check every couple of hours.

The flipside is that many people can't check constantly. So will see how this goes. I'm sure they will compare sales metrics against previous sales.

Guess it makes sense. Especially with a lot of people knowing if they miss a daily deal they could always get a game on the Encore again.
But no more Daily hype :/ flash sales were fun as well.
