The biggest mistakes you can make when building a gaming PC

Another is getting a case with USB3 ports in the front and getting a motherboard without USB3 port connectors (i.e. with only USB3 in the I/O area)
 
When people splurge a ton of money on the CPU and buy something like a RX 460 for instance. Rather a beefy Gpu and like a 6 series I5 Cpu.
 
Mine was getting an i7 4770K thinking I might overclock someday, only to find out 2.5 years later, its lacking VT-d which I now need, while the 4770 (non-K version) does support it...

Anyone want to swap? Yes, I'm serious...
