The Division Thread

It's worrying how at that level the combat is still basically the same...

Its an MMO shooter with no "classes" other than 2 skills that you can specialise in. The game play will be the same.... forever. Unless they bring in mountable turrents, cars, tanks, helicopters etc.

So yes, the longevity is an issue for me as well.

I managed to download the 25gig beta, made an account, played for 10 minutes, happy that it works on my PC in lowest settings. Wont play the beta again. I hate betas, losing progress is so irritating. Got the freebie item.

Will have to wait and see if the release will be a patch up on the beta content or a whole new download. 3 weeks to go.

I am excited to play the game but will NOT play compulsively as the "end game" is literally that for me when it comes to MMOs and I will want to slow it down so I have something to do.

Ah dang i got to the Character creation yesterday but then had to go so couldn't play, so I just hope that the full release will be a patch of the Beta and not a whole new download.

I've always maintained that the end game is a concern, and I think for it to remain interesting or enticing is to get the Season Pass with it. But again, the deciding factor should be about the Dark Zone. It's just that good, you never know who to trust or not to, and what to expect.

I found that they didn't remove the exploit zone in the darkzone, there is an area where you can climb a ladder and that is the only way to get there. So go rouge, shoot whoever comes to hunt you, lvl like boss. There will be plenty of bs in darkzone.

I'm not so worried about end game because I don't really want to play it for months. I just don't want the game to become repetitive as you're leveling because the only changes enemy encounters have are they become more tanky and hit you harder.

Yeah, MalicE and I tried that first mission (saving the doctor) on Hard, and it was actually more enjoyable. This is probably the way I'll be playing the game. Much like Destiny, I'm more about co-op and PvE over PvP.

Yeah, after playing the beta some more I have decided to wait first. I wanna see what the DLC will be like and whether there will be decent end game content. If it's gonna be like the beta the whole time it is going to get old really fast. If it does stay like that then I will rather stick with Destiny. The different classes and awesome weapons as well as great gameplay is more than enough to keep me playing.

A friend tells me he had to use a lockpick to open a door and that grenades/shotgun did not work.

Seriously?

None of those have been true from my experience. I actually had huge success with a shotty in some PvP scenarios.

Up to two it seems, at least that's what the beta allowed.

Thats great news, especially since I did not see any level scaling. I can beg my friends to have noob alts that we can play together since I have a LOT less time to play to level than they do.

What do you mean?

If you co-op with a friend and they are level 30 and you are level 10 and there is no level scaling and then they will be one shotting everything, making co-op useless. Level scaling scales people to the same level range.
