IMO the in game voice is pretty much just for shit talking rogues you pwnd :D

If i'm going to play a game with friends i'm going to use TS and if i'm lone wolfing it i hardly ever talk to other people.

Agreed, I first instinctively set it to push-to-talk. Though I wonder if now set to PTT, will it also be proximity based, or only to people within your group/squad?

Until someone just has a loud pinging sound. Had some idiot running around one of the pick-up zone, sounded like that old school TV tuning screen. Just louder.
