I've been staring at the character creation for about an hour now, for srs.

I can't figure out what race I want to be.

I love the Khajit but I want to become a vampire or werewolf at some stage. And a werewolf/vampire cat just can't be taken seriously :p

I'll probably settle for Breton. Maybe.

Yea the races are tricky, but personally i just don't like how the elves look in Elder scrolls, they always looked bad to me in all the Elder Scrolls games, kinda like those grey aliens. The Khajit/Argonians tends to feel gimmicky, as you say, i played a khajitt and orc in beta for kicks. So basically only the human races appeal to me, Redguard,Nord and Breton basically (and Imperial).

Note, the imperial race is like a little icon way in the middle bottom after all the races, easy to miss.

Aslong as I have my standard edition explorer features with retail ie play any race in any faction, I'll be happy. Don't fancy the Imperial bonuses much

Oi, I never said the Khajit or the Argonians seem gimmicky :p

I just struggle to put myself into the shoes of a vampire kitty cat or a mammalian (werewolf) reptile :D

I used to play as a dark elf "back in the day." These days I spend hours on character creation T.T

I'm still torn with the alliances. Looks like i will be rerolling a few chars hehe (as per usual with a new MMO).

I realised your alliance significantly alters the look of the race you pick. So it's not so much the race itself, but the alliance. I.e the EbonHeart (the snow starting area) gives you that nordic look, while Dominion/Covenant seems to be more Middle Eastern/African look, despite picking say Nord as race.

So i rolled a Nord on Dominion and my options were restricted to dark skin, dark hair. Exact same race on Ebonheart is all blonde, light skin.

Oh and you can skip the tutorial on 2nd character, however you end up having no gear or money (as expected).

No combination keys (shift + key), no name tags on heads, ouchie, EINA! Lots to get used to from the norm.

And no minimap!

Yep, that's what totally jumps out at you if you go from this to Wildstar. It is kinda nice actually having to look around to see stuff and not constantly looking at some map.

Pretty much what I like about it too. Nice to actually see stuff in an MMO, for a change :p

Going with my old MMO routine- like in DAoC rolling a heavy tank main, which I'm assuming DK is the best option. And then a dps sneak (Nightblade) for mostly pvp/bridge camping.

You lot already playing? 500mb left on my patch blah.

LOL yeah on a 2mb line here, but reason for the patch is my Telkom line had been off the last 2 days. Magically came back to life again this afternoon.
