The Hitman Thread

Ok I figured out the graphics thing. It seems like for the Beta the graphics settings are locked. Even though you can change them they don't actually change in game.

I wanted this beta so badly, but didn't get in for some reason. Loved all the previous games, even Absolution, and can't wait to play this one. I think I will wait for the release though, but we'll see.

I didn't mind the instinct thing in Absolution since 47 always had a "tablet" where you could check gaurd positions etc. since the first game anyway.

I have to say the game is in a very good place. The movement and interaction is spot on and better than it has ever been. Small things like turning your body slightly as you walk through a crowd of people looked amazing and it definitely helped the Immersion.

Maybe the whole episodic thing is enabling them to focus on these small little things...I'm still not happy about it but I'm very happy with the state of the beta.

Mmmm the 11th can't come soon enough. The Beta was fantastic and like I mentioned the game seemed in a really good place.

So you gonna sponsor me a copy/key? ;)

tsk tsk... where's your priorities and what ever happened to the bro code?

I played the PS4 Beta over the weekend and i must say i was seriously impressed... The game play is fantastic, and the mission challenges really give the game a hell of a lot of depth...

With regards to the episodic release, I think this actually makes perfect sense. In previous Hitman games, I cant tell you how many times iv played through a level once, got to the end, and carried on going without ever returning to the map. By breaking it up like this, and by having the challenges per map, this gives me way more incentive to try different approaches...

The way the Beta was set up, I couldn't complete all the content 100% and I played for quite a while... I did the first mission on the boat and completed all the challenges on that one, Its really fun trying to complete as many as possible in one round... But the second of "Final" training mission had a hell of a lot more challenges...

I think im convinced... This game is looking seriously good, and really brings me back to the days when i first played Hitman 1 and 2...

Hitman Boasting DirectX 12 Support At Launch

DirectX 12 is known to improve how efficiently games run on Windows, which gamers see in improvements in terms of graphics alongside better performance. I/O Interactive outlined what specific improvements fans can expect with Hitman:
  • improved multithreading (multithreading is the ability of an operating system to execute different parts of a program, called threads, simultaneously)
  • improved performance when the CPU is involved
  • better performance on laptops
  • asynchronous compute on AMD cards (asynchronous compute allows AMD GPUs to perform graphics and compute workloads simultaneously)

So excited for the release! Might even stay up late and play! It launches tonight if im not mistaken...

Sounds like the Paris map is really something special! And HUGE!!! with literally hundreds of people!

The Beta really got me excited for this game! :D

Trophy list for those interested... No Platinum at the moment for Hitman, but the trophies released are only for the first "episode" so the intro tutorials and the Paris mission...

If you are anything like me then you will love the new Hitman... I was a huge fan of 1 and 2, but feel like they went south after those... This is a really awesome "back to basics" kind of Hitman... they have really built on the things that made the original so great...

That might be a while though, which is sad because by the time I might afford it, I would have forgotten or lost interest.
