The most over-hyped games that failed terribly

Bold statement by Marco adding Destiny to a list of over-hyped games that failed terribly. Destiny may not have lived up to the hype, but it did do well in sales. Well enough to have warrant many DLC packs, and even two years after release it's still being played. Not a lot of games on that list can say the same.

I don't think a day goes by when someone on my friends list isn't playing Destiny. How is that a failure to the game?

Yeah, the article writer might need to go back and do his homework properly. There is no way that Destiny can be called a failure in any way, shape or form.

The Division, on the other hand. Now that game tanked hard.

Also, regarding Colonial Marines, there's a weird group of people who actually seem to like the game as evidenced by the Mixed score on Steam. I just don't get it. I didn't see anything salvageable in that wreck.

Replace Destiny with The Division and you are probably good to go.

Now this I tend to agree with. Though massively hyped as well and off to a great start, it did suffer from a dismal 94% (or something ridiculous) loss in their player base.

Yeah, I've seen the 94% figure thrown around a lot.

For me personally there just wasn't anything to bring me back to the game after I hit max level. I could hunt the DZ for better gear, but why would I want to? So I can use it to keep finding even more powerful gear?

Destiny is in no way a failure. For the price you paid, compared to how many hours I've played makes it by far the best value game I've ever bought.

Division on the other hand, done and dusted within a month.

Rugby 15 is another game that failed miserably.

You're right! I didn't pay a single cent for Destiny, yet you got many hours of enjoyment from it. Bargain of the century, I'd say!

I wouldn't call Division a failure either. I've put 80 hours into it and loved every second of it. And most everybody I know that got Division shares the sentiment

Yeah I completely agree with the statement. 120 hours worth of entertainment is great value from R600. BUT... I think from a fiscal point to lose a player base by 94% has to say something about their game plan ('scuse the pun).
