Has anyone played Risk: Legacy?

The idea behind it really intrigues me but is the idea on paper as good as the idea in practice.
 
Sorry for the late notice but we are having the Pretoria Pokemon City championships tomorrow at battlewizards. If you are in the area come through, you are welcome to spectate and ask questions.

GPS Coordinates: S 25° 51′ 21.1”, E 28° 13′ 1.1″
Registration: 9:00–10:00
Format: Expanded – all cards from Black & White and X&Y (BW1–XY9) excluding Lysandre’s Trump Card. XY BREAKpoint is also legal.
Entry Fee:
Senior and Junior Division: No entry free
Masters Division: R100 per player

Not exactly 'n board game but does anyone know where i can get some wow tcg booster packs? apart from importing them

It turns out that I have REALLY taken a shine to Magic. I even participated in the latest pre-release and played in my first Modern tournament last night at Battle Wizards. I didn't do particularly well, but I really enjoyed it and I will probably attend the events more regularly. Is there anyone else here that plays Modern in Pretoria?

Whereabouts do you stay? There are quite a few places in and around Pretoria where you can play Magic for example:

Battle Wizards in Centurion/Lyttleton
Outer Limits in Lynwood/Menlo Park
If you a student, I believe there is a club based at the university...
 
I'm happy to report that Sunday we had a blast at DeeTwenty! :D

Played quite a few games for the first time..
Takenoko, Tokaido, Muchkin, and some kind of bean card game.

Next time we're playing Eldritch Horror

K, well I guess that there are no shops in your immediate vicinity, but that doesn't mean there is no hope! There is a Magic: The Gathering South Africa group on Facebook. Look it up, join, and then post asking whether there is anyone close by that would like to join you for a game (or would be willing to give you a lift to FNM). There are thousands of us in that group and there's gotta be a couple of people in the North.
 
Wow this thread hasn't been touched in ages. I thought I'd mention that Timeless Board games has started up its famous boardgame party in Pretoria. I think they hold it at Lion's club and the next one is on 17 September, so all you PTA people, if you want to get a board game fix, this is the place to go:
