Yeah, but it's not such a big problem as on PC, because you have to modify your console first, then there's the problem of not being able to go online with your modified console. All in all, console piracy isn't as big as PC piracy.
Thats ridiculous , ha ha ha ..... firstly console games are easy to pirate and are very freely available , you do not need extra internal hard ware , all u need now is firmware and any monkey with a wrench can play copied games .
If you have the internet then just google you are bound to find answers on the first page.
So far as
the problem of not being able to go online with your modified console and you think that you can play online with copied PC games , even those that manage to cheat the system for a few days get patched out , this cause online play now isn't like the old days of COD4 where it was user hosted .
Have you seen anyone playing a cracked Bad company 2 online or Black ops .
You are generalising way too much , your statement that
"All in all, console piracy isn't as big as PC piracy." is so unfounded and brash because you are comparing it to most Likely a PS3 but let me ask if you have considered
The Xbox 360 , the Wii that have been open to Piracy for years but let me add the mother of them all there , the PS2 which is still the most widely used console /gaming device that has hundreds of titles which to this day are still being pirated ,uploaded then downloaded , the whole world is not First World , the greater portion of the planet is still poor and those still use ps2 , just for fun I will add in the PSP with CFW that should push the tally of consoles way above that of PC.
People who own PC 's at most case have money to spend on our PC's or save to upgrade our machines , point being that PC gamers
will at some point buy a game ,SP or MP but they will, where as I know of people with modded Xbox's that have never purchased a game and don't give a rats ass about xbox live .
PC gamers are a community that like it or not ARE the original Gamers .
I may come across bias but , I own All variations a PS2 ,a PSP, a PS3 ,and a360 ....I dont believe the Wii is a console or a gaming machine so I don't own that .
My point is its not PC game pirates that cause Piracy ....its Pirates and people that don't want to pay what ever console or medium you choose to pirate ...
This is not to say that I agree with your argument , which essentially is that because of pirates developers are not making as many PC games or games of this or that type .
No developers are merely latching on to the new quicker cash cow , the easier to deliver to , the ones that wont question , what they are getting the ones that look at the shiny pictures and think of my this is going to be a awesome game , yet it lasts for all of 5 sec's
Yes I refer to the console market , it is this reason that I stopped using my ps3 as a gaming machine because of the ,un proportionate value for price paid ...R650 bucks for Infamous and all I could say at the end of the 3.5 hour play trough was wtf ...
Let me just repeat what I said in my first post ... A pirate would not have bought the game anyway .
Games are a global market , the revenue generated from the first 3 days of sales , of any AA title can fund another 2 titles and there are more than 2 titles out a month ..you do the math
PC wont die , not for all the reasons gamers think , but because its a cash cow , not as large as the console cow now but it is .
