Umineko no Naku Koro ni was a bit of a mind-twister, for sure. It is, if you can believe it, more serious in nature than it's sibling series, Higurashi. It's also very much darker in terms of atmosphere. Violence and gore pretty much on the same level.

If you enjoyed Higurashi you'll probably enjoy Umineko - it's a little more cerebral but still awesome.
 
I've started doing the previews for the Spring 2011 release cycle - but there are something like 29 new series starting ... so it's going to be broken up into maybe as many as 10 parts. I've consolidated the posts onto one page here - I've done 7 series in 3 posts and I'm busy with the next couple, so I'll have Part 4 up soonish.

I'm not going to preview all 29 - some of the titles in there just aren't worth the effort :p
 
There are some that would agree with you on that - although there are a couple of shows that I do want to watch so far.

Moshidora (gets a maybe)
Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai (definite - same group that did Shuffle!)
30-sai no Hoken Taiiku (I'm watching this because I'm hoping I'm right that it'll be epically funny)

That's it so far - there are a couple still coming out that I've already got on my must-see list - I'll get to them in due course.

Do you think it will pick up? Or is it just a bad year for anime. last year was good though. shiki,high school of the dead and sp
 
I'm sure we'll have a few good shows coming along through the year. I'm just surprised at this sudden mass of shows - in the time I've been doing these previews its the first time I've had to deal with so many.

There might be a gem or two in the lot still.

Well you know what I am into so let me know:p
I have ergo proxy now:D finishing claymore(that show kinda lost the plot near the end a pity really)
 
I finished Kaichou wa Maid-sama! this week - so I had to put the Anime release preview aside for a little bit so I could get a review done while it was still fresh in my mind ;)

I'm pretty much done with the next part of my previews though - once I find all the trailers etc I'll have it up ... so maybe tomorrow :)
 



i think my mp4/mp4a is borked. exact same source but using vlc and zoom player

vlc: audio in-sync, video borked
zoom: audio out of sync, video fine

zoom i installed with it's codec installer that added all those it thinks it needs upon installation, well vlc is just vlc. have as well on my pc nero and itunes.
