The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

Sword Art Online was the best anime from last season... and there's going to be a season 2 :)

Bakemonogatari is also good, I still need to start Niseimonogatari as I see that Nekomonogatari is out.

And if you want something really funny, and random, you have to watch Nichijou and Daily Lives of High School Boys

And this is a screenshot from Jormungand :) :

Notice anything about it?

Thanks for the list:D

My "To watch" is now filled with anime from this list and shadowfox's top 10 (animated-meanderings) and highly rated (from myanimelist)

I wonder if I should start with Sword Art Online or Bakemonogatari since I have them already :?

Sword Art Online is pretty straightforward and easy to follow, so I would recommend starting with that.

Bakemonogatari is, from my point of view, excellent, mostly because of the writing behind the series - Nisio Isin's prose is pure genius. And it's there, in the dialogue, and the narrative, that Bakemonogari's strength is. That being said, it's a little more cerebral, and you'll need to follow the dialogue pretty closely to get the full effect.

Thanks, I'll give it a read:).

Need a little help.

I remember an anime trailer i saw a few months ago with a school teen carrying lots of guns to school and terrorizing the students.I don't remember the rest though but i know he had spiky hair and a swat style bulletproof vest when i watched it.

Uhhhmmm ... the only anime I can think of off the top of my head that it might be would be Full Metal Panic!

This one?

I asked for some friends' opinions on Neon Genesis Evangelion, and they're adamant that it's the most bleak anime out there... How true is this:confused:?

Hmmm ... I'm not sure about "bleak" - but it's probably created more heated discussion and debate than any other series - ever.

In itself it starts off straightforward enough - but at some point fairly early on it starts focusing on each of the characters' psychological problems, and a lot of existential themes are worked into the series - things like responsibility, freedom of choice, individuality etc etc etc. The problem is also, that things fell apart a little bit at the end when GAINAX ran out of budget, and I don't think they ended the series off the way they planned to.

So, it's a bit of a mind-twister, has probably got one of the least liked characters in existence (Ikari Shinji), and it's very definitely not everyone's cup of tea. I fell in at the deep end a little bit, because it was one of the first anime series (2nd or 3rd) that I watched - I still managed to enjoy it.

You might find the Rebuild of Evangelion movies a little more palatable - the 3rd one was released in cinemas in December and I believe the 4th and final is due this year - the plot and story have been changed and rewritten and the production quality has be ramped up significantly. I can't make a call for you one way or the other.

Okay, well, I'm going in head 1st... I'll get a source for the series:D

Couldn't have said it better myself ;)

Could it be DOGS: Bullets and Carnage?

Other shows I think of when you refer to school and guns, are Upotte! and Hidan no Aria
Jormungand has tons of guns, but no spikey hair dude.

Hair colour might help a lot.

There's a high chance it could be Yoichi Hiruma from Eyeshield 21

Sorry, I know you are new and all but please rather edit your posts instead of making new ones all the time, it helps with the flow of the forum, and the mods wont see it as spamming for post count.

Nope sorry,he had spiky hair that stood upwards.Kinda like DBZ,He was carrying allot of weapons with him like an rpg and rifles all slung over his shoulders.

Aria the scarlet ammo or Upotte!! ?
