The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

CDJapan, Rightstuff Amazon? :) GAAAH! So jealous! I got to wait till pay day. Got a Casshern & Baccano! with my name on it!

You really like Mahou Shoujo don't you Shadow?

This came from Rightstuf ... including shipping and customs set me back just short of R2,000. I wouldn't order anime from CDJapan because it will be the Japanese releases and they'll murder me on price.

As regards to the Mahou Shoujo question - I wouldn't say I prefer it over any other specific genre - Strike Witches happens to lean in that direction but I wouldn't really classify it as Mahou Shoujo per se. The other four are straight slice-of-life titles :p

I quite enjoyed iDOLM@ASTER and really could not get into AKB0048, but Love Live! is on a whole different level. It's the best of the genre in my books :P

I can't really run any comparisons myself, since I haven't seen the first two - however, while people are tempted to lump them into the same genre - they overlap to a large degree, but they're not really the same. The overlap being that we've got people trying to become idols, but AKB0048 is a sci-fi, whereas Love Live! is a slice-of-life/school-comedy, and iDOLM@STER is ... I'm not entirely sure where that would fall in - it's maybe a bit more pure in terms of idol lifestyles etc.

Someone help me out here :D

Idol anime, apparently it has it's own genre now.

There are a LOT of pages in this thread so I haven't read through them all but has/is anyone watching Magi?

I thought it was pretty cool to start off with but kinda not seeing it going anywhere :(

For you Gundam folks... busy watching Gundam 00 from years back and enjoying it!

I am not watching Magi, but I am pretty sure it's a remake of the original "Arabian Nights/One Thousand and One Nights"

00 was the first series not featured in the Universal Century, and to be broadcast in 1080i hence why it was more popular amongst westerners. Sucks that AGE is a failure and Unicorn takes for ever to be released on BD. Here's to another 5 year wait for a new Gundam series.

Finally started watching Ao No Exorcist (which I'm really enjoying) and psycho pass which is quite good as well so far. Difficult finding series that really draw you in these days.

My fav at the moment is One Piece, only recent started on like ep154 or something like that, great humour and just a fantastic story line. Also watching bleach and Naruto Shippuden.

Also just started a new Hakkenden Touhou Hakken Ibun, its really interesting, strange concept. The first episode explains almost nothing, kinda forces you to carry on watching.

You're in for a long watch:rolleyes:. Once Naruto and Fairy Tail come to a close (already done with Bleach), I'm done with Shonen anime series that go on forever... I love them to death, but I'm worn out thanks to them:o.

Bleach, Killed by fillers.
Naruto, Killed by wishy washy story line
One Piece, managing to hold on for now.

Dropped Bleach at episode 174 when they injected filler into the middle of an arc.
Dropped Naruto at Shippuuden 18 because I never really liked any of the characters in the first place (except Hinata, but she barely gets screen-time).
Not starting on One Piece because I don't fancy catching up on 500-odd episodes when there is so much else to watch.

In other news - spent the past 4 days rewatching Sword Art Online - I enjoyed it much more due to not having to wait a week per ep :p
