The official Witcher 3 thread

Okay great thanks, but I was pretty worried running an AMD GPU but have to say its reall really smooth and load times are super fast.

Thanks for the lengthy feedback. I will start the game open minded with zero expectations nor high hopes. Will provide feedback tomorrow morning after playing an odd hour or two this evening.

BeoTeK I have a similar PC, i5, 16gb ram, 970.. Will see how it runs. Flashed the latest firmware on my gigabyte 970 that improves alot of things, apparently. Will see how the performance goes on my PC this evening.

I would like to see if it also has issues with you in terms of hanging/crashing. I think I have nailed it down to Shadow Play, not sure if you have yours on/off. But just a heads up. I am on latest drivers and using the latest GFExperience profile settings. I also tried running it through Galaxy and Steam (as a non-Steam game) and seems to work fine.

Feel bad fro the guys having issues running on PC, Ive had absoluetly no issues. I am a bit of a noob when it comes to the hardware Im running but basically its the following.

Win 7 Pro
I5 not sure which one but its pretty new.
16GB Ram
AMD R something not sure which but its mid range.

Have half settings on Ultra, the setting I most wanted and the rest on high (Hairworks enabled). Game to me looks like its running silky smooth but maybe Im mistaken. How do you guys check your frames?

Biggest game changer for me was changing from Mouse and Keboard setup to X-1 controller.

Without a doubt this is the best game I have ever played, no RPG comes close to the story and world developement found in this game. Just WOW ......

Pretty much this. I started on Friday and played for most of the weekend. Had one crash to desktop, 2 kinda-crashes (after getting killed and reloading the last save, the game just says loading, but doesn't do anything) and one bug (one trader couldn't show me his wares). This is not a lot considering how many hours I put in.

I have an I7 and Geforce GTX 780 with I think everything set on Ultra except with hairFx for Gerald only. Couple of noticeable frame-rate issues occur sometimes after zooming out from a conversation when Gerald is up close to the camera, but as soon as I turn the camera, they're gone.

I think this game is quite awesome. There is so much to do and I haven't gotten bored with anything... I thought Dragon Age 3 was awesome and then this came along.

Playing the game on max graphics settings? @ 1080p?

Will play around a bit on the settings to see what gives the best quality2performance ratio. I wanna play at least around 60fps

Checked specs quickly Im running the following.

I5 4460 3.2GHz
16GB Corsair DDR 3 1600Mhz Ram
ASUS AMD Radeon R9270

As I said no crashes and running very smooth.

That's good to know. Shouldn't have been locked in the first place.

Is there any way to view completion percentage in this game? Been playing a good 30 hours now and keen to know roughly how far along the main storyline I am.

I know from the inventory screen you can press RT to get your stats, though not sure how reliable it is as it says I've been playing for 2 days and something hours.

This thread makes me remember why i moved to console gaming. Pop in the disk and go.
On what version is your witcher? Mine still says 1.01 and psn does not find a new update when I chech manually. 1.03 should be out soon for ps4 bur what about 1.02?

Think it is pretty reliable if it's supposed to be real world time. The time I've spent playing adds up roughly to the 1 day 6 hours it says I've been playing. But nowhere a completion story percentage unfortunately. Not that I've found anyway.

Yeah I don't think there is an indicator of how far you are story-wise. Neither of the first 2 games had anything like that. I checked my playing time now and it's at 1 day 2 hours and something and it doesn't feel right. I'm sure I've played more than that, but I could be wrong.

Please. You mean pop in the disk, download the system software update, download the patch for the game, and then play. Consoles and PC are exactly the same when it comes to the **** we have to deal with.

----------------------

Anyway, on topic, starting this right now. Just finished my TW2 save, time to import.

yeah, I don't believe I've played for around 50 hours, or even more than you for that matter!

Nope. Patch downloaded in the background. No crashes so far. No system update. Just pop and play [emoji3]
