The official Witcher 3 thread

I think I struggled the most with that first Wild Hunt dude you fight
Spoiler: show
during the Keira Metz questline
I actually had to lower the difficulty to beat him, but it probably had something to do with the fact that I had no potions or anything when the fight started.
Spoiler: show
The fact that he regenerates his health the whole time, was also pretty kak.

He was actually the most fun boss for me,he taught me how to play the game :).At first i couldn't beat him but then i just though "fuck it" and went full balls on him by recklessly doing fast attacks and dodging all his swings trying to burst him down.

Currently playing this on PS4, and must say I'm finding the game mechanics difficult. Getting into it bit by bit, but I have to be a lot more careful as going in "guns blazing" gets me killed more often than not. Not that far into the game, trying to level up a bit before progressing with the main story (meeting up with Hendrik at some cross roads).

Nemesis - you still in White Orchid then? Awesomesauce dude. I hope you enjoy it, it is a phenomenal game.

Just past it now, met up with "his majesty" and exploring the 2nd area a bit. Level 4 going on 5. The game grows more on me the more I play it, but damn, I can swear if I forgot to save and get killed.

I'm surprised at how easily and how much damage Geralt takes falling from the smallest heights. A 2-man height drop - half my health is gone! :wtf:

I spoke to someone the other day asking: "Are there really only 3 Swallow (healing potions) available. Same day, I run into a battle I was not prepared for, went looking through my inventory, did some alchemy and bam! Enhanced Swallow, and 4 of them.

Ha... Unexpected, but really helpful, as I was near death, fighting something (seemingly - at the time) undefeatable (having had no health potions at the time).

Doing some side quests before moving on with the main story. Defeated that first Wild Hunt guy on my second try and busy doing the friends with benefits side quests. My wife is giving me "that" look when I say I'm going to play the witcher for a little bit...

Have you updated recently? I believe they reduced fall damage with patch 1.07.
The patch update I have is 1.07, I still need to update to 1.08, which I think is the latest.
Well, I don't expect to just walk it off if I fall from a place twice my height either. :p
I've leaped from our garage's roof, which is roughly twice my height; landed, rolled and walked it off. No health lost, I don't think. Geralt falls from small distances and nearly dies.

There is 1.08, then 1.08.2 and then the latest one is 1.08.3. All 3 of them are 2 GB patches for some reason.

Not sure which patch fixed the falling damage, but I haven't really had problems with falling damage (I am on patch 1.08.2 atm)

K. So that's an overnighter, then. I log into Galaxy offline so that the game does not automatically update, thus leaving me to wait before playing again. Will maybe only get to it by the weekend.

Luckily for you the patches are all-inclusive from 1.01 till current. You will download the ~2gb 1.08.3 patch only, not all the previous ones first.

Edit: The GOG ones anyway.

You can also roll just before hitting the ground to negate most fall damage, even without the latest patch.

Managed to craft my first full Witcher set last night - School of Griffin set. Way better stats than my previous stuff.

Did a quest in which I had to fight a giant; 3 armed men (including me) and the SOB only follows me. I was the only one that did any damage to the thing and it also only targeted me, even though the other 2 guys were attacking it. Pissed me off. Taking it down was easy enough though.
