The official Witcher 3 thread

Press square on the skill you want on the left to level it up. Then press X. It will highlight over on the right side in one of the open slots. Make sure you take one that doesn't have a lock symbol on it.

Thanks...will try that tomorrow.

I've switched from m+kb to controller and now remember why i don't use it. I should start a youtube series called "Drunk and disorientated - The Witcher chronicles"

I've used a controller all the way through WItcher 2 and I'm still using it in Witcher 3 and I really enjoy it. I prefer it to the M+KB. I admit that I don't get the same fine level of control, but it's not a make or break for a game like the Witcher.

I've been playing on my ps4, so I don't get the kb+m option, but my friends played on PC. They hated playing with a mouse. One switched to a controller. The game was developed around controllers. I actually wish I'd have gotten it on my PC (for the better graphics), but any game I'm going to put that much time into, I'd rather sit on my lazy boy in the living room than sit in an office chair...

Its not too bad on the controller. The only thing i have an issue with is the camera movement. Its not as precise on the controller which makes combat difficult when fighting multiple enemies.

I agree with that. The enemy lock works well for single enemies, but when you're getting flanked by drowners/nekkers, not so much...

It does take some getting used to, but once you are used to it, it's not a problem anymore.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for us and for your ongoing support!

As developer CD Projekt RED continues to release content for this year’s popular The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a film adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski novel series has been announced by The Sean Daniel Company, which previously produced The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, “The Expanse,” and the upcoming remake of Ben-Hur. They will co-produce the Witcher movie with Platige Films.

Academy Award nominated director Tomasz Bagiński (“The Cathedral”) will direct the film, having previously directed the opening cinematics for the first two games in the series. Thania St. John (“Grimm,” “Chicago Fire”) will pen the script for the Witcher movie, which will be based on themes from the short stories “The Witcher” and “Lesser Evil” from “The Last Wish” collection.

The Witcher movie will be an introduction to Geralt the witcher, a nomadic monster hunter for hire, and his duel world of men and beasts. The film is also being planned as the beginning of a television and film series with the first movie set for a world premiere in 2017. Jarosław Sawko and Piotr Sikora will be the producers from Platige Films’ side and Sean Daniel and Jason Brown from The Sean Daniel Company.

The Witcher was previously adapted into a feature film in 2001, which also had a TV series continuation. CD Projekt RED’s games have gone on to be critical and commercial successes with additional content for this year’s “Wild Hunt” set to roll out next year.

I hope you guys might be able to help me, bought the retail version from BT Games.

When I try to install the game, I get the below error. So I tried to copy all files to a directory on a hard drive, resulted in the same error. Disc is fine, no marks and it copied successfully from DVD to HDD.

I have tried on another PC, same error, as admin too. (PCs are Win 7 (Symantec AV) and Win 10 (FREE AVG) and disabled AV)

I dont have the bandwidth to download the game from GOG.

Probably a faulty disc then.

That sucks VF. Definitely sounds like faulty disk. Not that it's any consolation, but you aren't entirely alone.

No-one in your neck of the woods that you could grab the files from perhaps? I like Crzwaco's suggest to pick up a free Afrihost trial account and use it to download after midnight.

Does it always fail at the same point? Maybe (doubtful, but I guess you never know) it's an issue with just one file? I've just checked my install and that file in your screenshot is 297MB - I'll happily slap it into a Dropbox folder for you to grab and try replace the one on your HD?

I unfortunately done have ADSL...

But, I did a bit of Macguyvering.

I used winRAR, extracted the 8 BIN files to a hard drive. While extracting, it gave me one error, that same blob.bundle file in the picture in my previous post. The rest extracted without an error.

The I tried to run the witcher3.exe and it gave me this error:

So now I want to try the Galaxy app.

If anyone is using it, what is the exact folder name used for The Witcher 3 in the galaxy games folder? Would like to try and see if it might just download that specific file, followed by the patch.
