The PC that powered the Battlefield 4 demo

The demo was rendered internally at 3K resolution (around 3200 x 2000 pixels), which was downscaled to 1080p at 60 frames per second.
Holy crap.
I would love to have crazy amount of ram... just think of awesome VM stuff I could do :love:
Thats GFX ram...no good for VMs. 12 gigs of (non-gfx) ram isn't that expensive though...like 400 bucks or something.

Why do PC's need so much ram for games?
They prob took that choice because they wanted 2x gfx processing power. The 2x ram was just a side-effect. Pretty sure you could pull off identical results with 3-4 gigs.
 
Read the article title as "The minimum PC you'll need to play BF4 with the same settings you saw in the video"
