I see I see, big step up that.

Yeah, so i had to slot everybody into the training schedule only to have 1 of my receptionist show up 1:30 late for work and the other one phoning in with the age old "my daughter is sick" excuse.

Im thinking about doing a short course in programming or something so i can get a different job.

Programming is tough , have you done any programming before?

I've done some VBA programming, actually go pretty good at it. Could make 12 Excel spreadsheets talk to each other and corrilate/import/export data values all with the click of a button. I have books on C#.net and Visual Basic 6, just have to sit down and work through them.

I worked for a year as a VB6 / .NET developer and hated it.

If you going to learn anything get into .NET, plenty of work out there for good developers.

Why Did you hate it? I was definitely looking at C#.net or something.

Well for starters the people I worked for were a bunch of you know whats. I was contracted out to a company in the UK, where I spent 3 months of my time working.

I mostly developed in VB6 which is out dated and a mission to code in, especially when you are trying to build in features that VB6 just can't achieve.

On the whole I hated bug fixing and all the BS documentation that came with it. I was also developing for one of the worst software industries out there, insurance.

haha that makes sense. Since Red and myself a planning on moving to the uk anyways I figure it would be adventitious for me to have a diploma in something like programming.

Well if you dig it and you good at it, why not. Certainly not lack of jobs out there.

Just remember one thing with developing, you either love it or hate it, and trust me when you hate it, you REALLY HATE LIFE :p

The spreadsheet system i developed took me about 6 month to get right. I must have spent a good 2 or 3 months just hunting down bugs and coming up with solutions. Some of the most fulfilling things ive done in a long time & that was about a year and a half ago. Ill give the self help books another bash before signing up for a course.
