The Witcher

I bought The Witcher last Saturday as some of you might remember, and I finished it at 04:00 this morning.

Was really enjoyable and a fun title with creepy bits, and then the "Wow, just check that shit out! " bits and plot twists like crazy.

Chapters 2 & 3 were by far the most difficult for me, this is because you don't really have all the nice things you want and there was a lot of running around and zoning. After that it was smooth sailing.

A big let down however was taking down the main antagonist Javed, which I thought would pose more of a challenge, and the epilogue where you have to nail Javed's "boss" and a certain "acquaintance" from your past was ridiculously easy (well, that is if you have the fire spells maxed out, maximum health and enduance)

(Suppose one could make a run at it without the great armor, magic and swords ;) )

There are really a lot to keep you going, and doing the side quests is really worth the while, because the developers really made good on integrating the quests and side quests into the main story, and as for the better part of the game there was always the feeling of "being in control" of your choices in a non-linear play style.

Here and there it felt like things were forced a bit, but in general I enjoyed it (must have since I spent 20 hours on it this weekend alone)

Looking forward to sequal (with less bugs) :D

Maplassie ... I'll have to get that from you ASAP (and the instructions on how to install it, looks like a bitch)

I want to go with the "bad guys" the next time around and stick with the sorceress and give Shani the finger :D

Is there any way you could "see" the clip at the end of the game again, and is there any statistics available about how many hours you spent in game, and how many kills you got etc of each monster ?

Brilliant game. I have finished it using all 3 paths. One of the best rpg's in the last few years.

On the bugs I only had crashed with this game when it originally came out and I played under vista 32 bit for my first play through once I switched to 4 gig ram and vista x64 the loading times and crashes weren't a problem anymore.

Stef ... enlighten me, 3 paths?

The 3rd path being the neutral part?

The choice are side with the elves, humans or stay neutral. The armor you find in assemble in the last part of the game will also look different and have different stats depending on which side you chose.

No ho'ing? Man ... that's nasty. I enjoyed the uncensored adult content! I see the boys in the US didn't get the naked art cards.

Poor bastards

Oooh, nice nice Stef! Thanks

Looking forward to it, will do the neutral one last!

Joker mate, if you like RPG's then go for gold!

Yeah, the pansy arsed US "Satan made me do it!" teenybobbers can't differentiate between reality and games :D

No the SA/European version is not cut, they cut the US version.

I thought S.A Retailers only stock EU version games?

I Got the witcher for a present, the limited edition one with all the included patches and stuff, and mine cut's out!

UNless it's an import being the limited and all.
