The XBOX 360 FAQ

I just have one silly little question, when you guys play fps like MW2, do you use a mouse and keyboard with your xbox or just the controller?

I dont own an xbox but my dad recently got himself one and I've played turok on it with a controller and it just seems a bit tricker, I also have a xbox controller for my pc and I played most of kane and lynch with it but find when you need fast accuracy with guns the controller just doesent do it for me.

So are you guys just leet or do you use a keyboard and mouse?

Keyboards & mice are for word processing, programming and web browsing.
Gaming controllers are for gaming. (Strangely enough).
</baiting> :P

No. You can use a mouse and keyboard on the PS3 for browsing and whatnot, but as far as I know, not for gaming.

I have a hard time finding for the best RPG games in Xbox 360 as i did not want to waste my money on games that are not very enticing. As far as i have researched, the reviews from other websites are that Elder scrolls IV : Oblivion was the best. I thought of Fable 2 was also the best game. So what is your choice?

RPG`s:

Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dragon Age, Fallout 3, Fable 2

JRPG's:

Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4, Magna Carta 2, Infinite Undiscovery.

I really dont see the point of keyboard and mouse on a console, it limits to were you can sit and play, which is one of the positives when owning a console.

Last night I switched on my Xbox....

To my horror it was showing the RROD

I then unplugged the power and waited about 10 min, after which I reconnected it and it was working fine. Should I be worried?

I have a question. Is a certain xbox live for free, like for gamer points and unlocking achievements?

I have a question. Is a certain xbox live for free (1) ,like for gamer points and unlocking achievements (2) ?

The question is a bit vague but let me try:

(1) Yes. If you sign up for a silver account, it is free. The silver account will allow you to do everything on xbox live like voice chat and downloads, but you will not be able to play games online. To play games online you will need to sign up for a gold account, which you will get charged for on a monthly, 3 monthly or yearly basis, depending on the package you choose. Remember that you'll need internet access regardless.

(2) Adding gamerpoints and unlocking achievements is in no way related to the xbox live service. You will still unlock achievements and add points to your gamerscore, regardless if you are an xbox live subscriber or not. But, relating to this, is your gamertag. Now, it is important to check the web for gamertags in use (there are a number of sites with lists) and pick one that is not in use, or that you know will not be used by anyone on the xbox live service. Reason for this is that your gamerpoints, saves and achievements are linked to your gamertag. If you eventually activate the xbox live service, it will check if your gamertag is in use by someone else on the network already. If it is, you've got a problem. You will have to change your gamertag to something new, and in the process you will lose all your current game progress.

Remember, gamertags cannot be changed before it is registered on xbox live. Even when registered, they can be changed but that is charged for.

Hope that helps.

Not quite true, actually. You will have to change your gamertag if it's already in use, but you won't lose any Achievements or anything else. I had an offline profile for about 8 months or so, and had to change the gamertag when I finally registered and went onto LIVE. No loss of anything.

question ... can you get mspoints evens if you have silver account?

Yup. You'll have to have it LIVE-enabled, though. And make sure you buy for the right region - US or UK.

Hmm...ok....guess I got shafted then...lol...

You can get MS points regardless of what type of account you have. The only difference between the silver and gold accounts is that you can't do multi-player online games with a silver account.
