Thermal Paste/Grease

What are your guys preference in this regard?

Personally I prefer the sticky white stuff over the arctic silver. Also, where would I buy some of this as I don't just want the standard 2.5mm that comes in a tiny one serving tube.

The white version seems to come in various levels of quality...personally I use AS5...mostly to ensure reasonable quality rather than belief in the mystical silver.

Last one i bought was a mini tube...very small but you don't really need much so I rate it'll last 5x or so. I very much doubt you can even buy something small enough for a single serving...more a question of whether you can seal it to prevent drying out.

I don't really trust the white sticky stuff. Results have not been that great using it. My personal favourite is Cooler Master Extreme Fusion X1

We recently ran out of our last bit of thermal paste from those tiny tubes and decided to buy this. And even thought we've only used it once so far, its really easy to apply and works fairly well.

ok what is the sticky white stuff? I currently have a tube of Coolermaster X1 for me, and for clients a tube of the cheaper CM stuff (office PC's needing a cpu reseat dont need better :p)

I'll quote the reference:
A sticky, white, wax-like substance. Apply it to the right-hand weapon for a magical effect.
It is said to be the waste product of a magical slug that bathed in fluorescent water.

I just used it in this reference to depict the white thermal paste over the silver.

Yeah but that can still be anything. I've heard in a pinch you can even use toothpaste if you desperate. So the sticky white stuff really sounds plausible, and i'm going "really??? well maybe, if you LOVE your pc, and if it DOES do decent heat transference...but REALLY?"

hehe

We use the same Cooler Master paste, it just lasts longer with less hassle. It just works and results do not change 2 weeks later.

Just bought this for R50. Fucking rip off.

Daaayam, how many gram is that?

I know you said in OP that you not a fan of the silver compound, but the Arctic MX-4 is amazing.
Very noticeable temps when replacing the stock paste on GPUs.
If you place a plastic wrap (like the plastic wrap used to put over left overs) between the tube opening and the cap then keep it in a ziplock bag under a cool dry place, they won't go bad :)
