srsly eh ......... 90% of mah youth spent in Afrikaans towns and Afrikaans schools with 99% Afrikaans friends and I didn't know that until now

Ok so if you had REAL afrikaans friends what is the meaning of "skoppelmaai"?
i was dumfounded when someone used this word.....for something that i have always known by another name...

weird is that

French 1st name for me, English 2nd name and Afrikaans surname aswell.

The difference between me and you is I was brought up english, but had to "learn" afrikaans from primary school onwards as we only lived in Afrikaans communities, with Only Afrikaans schools available.

Afrikaans is and has been for a while now my 1st language, but I dont have a brakpan accent when I converse in the english tongue
