Because I don't have an IvyBridge mobo I've only got a SandyBridge and to add to that the i7 doesn't do much more justice than the i5 so why spend an extra 2k when the i5 is more than sufficient??

The Difference is only £200?
I have Sandy Bridge i7 in my MBP.
Thats a huge price difference. I have never seen justice in spending the extra $$ on he i7. You can get the top of the range i5 and overclock it to the same if not better performance than a i7.
