Yeah It was a few days ago missile toe said rape turns woman into lesbians.

That is the opinion of a psychologist whose article I read years ago, not my opinion. I stated that a few days ago. Some others in TK were talking about bad relationship experiences and abusive relationships and how they can be the cause of women becoming lesbians. Abuse is open to interpretation, because there are many types of abuse, including sexual abuse, and it can and does take place in relationships. People often think of it as an act that is committed by complete strangers, but that isn't always the case.

In any case, it's not that I personally believe that any type of abuse causes people to become homosexual. I realise I shouldn't have posted it, and if it means we can move on from there, I'm mature enough to apologise for it. Like Ike says, let's leave it behind.

Fair enough.

Check it out, kids.

Download Speed: 399 kbps (49.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 390 kbps (48.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 93 ms

It's amazing I can get anything done at all. That is on a 4mb, capped account to a Joburg server. And it is actually a bit better now. Earlier I had a 33kbps speed. On international, the test bombs out after about 15 minutes because it can't complete the download.

And it's been like this for a week already.

It has to be Telkom because everybody in town have the same problem.

Have you phoned them? maybe its the udates they are doing I had major problems with my line for a month before it resolved itself. High latency with games and some sites where extremely slow.

Yep, Telkom is definitely to blame. I've had terrible upload speeds for the past few weeks. Tried different accounts, different routers, same problem and same packet loss. All evidence points toward the sinister fixed-line monopoly.

Always... Blame Telkom

Don't really know how to interpret this.
Thing is that everybody in town I spoke to has the same issues regardless of isp. I'm with Afrihost and I logged a ticket. They stabilised the line which helped a bit, but my speeds are still far from normal.

Hmmm, ye that tracert is not really out of the ordinary although your ping is high from the very first hop which is normally the indication of a borked exchange. Here's mine as comparison:

I know it's not very high but those first couple are supposed to be below 10-15 like

I agree matt

Telkom would never take responsibility they would rather shift the blame on something that is totally unrelated to the fault.

Yeah. Latency on speed test is normal as well. Router syncs full speed, just the actual speed is up to shit.

I struggled so much with Telkom back in the day that I dropped them and went the 3G (now LTE) route. Now I have less bandwidth but hell I don't have to deal with them anymore.

I'm using Telkom's 3G Internet 10 package. Been going pretty well with that for the last year. I occasionally game online with it, no problems.
