Your best bet with a fiberglass pool - go salt system. Best ever bet in the long run dude, trust me. And it's not as complicated or expensive as it used to be.

Really? Cool, I think I should look into that. I've become quite proficient with de-greening my pool, but if you don't work really hard to maintain it, it just greens right back up again.

No, it's just a regular chlorine pool with a sand filter. It's fiberglass so the TA is supposed to be even higher than what it needs to be with marbelite pools, but it keeps dropping, and if I put in alkalinity-up, then I have to add acid to fix the PH, and that pulls the TA down again, so I have to add more alkalinity-up, and then more acid etc etc. It's a huge pain. At the moment it's sitting on about 30ppm but it should be something like 120ppm (should be 80ppm in marbelite pools afaik)

The best thing to do is go to see a specialist, like we go to builders warehouse as they have a huge supply of pool products and have people who know what they are selling.
Ask them for advice on anything and everything about a pool.

Yeah or take a sample of the water in, and get them to advise from there.

So the wife's car went in for a service and some other repairs, and we got the car back in a worse condition than it was when it went in

Sheesh that's terrible. Where did you take it? Name and shame.

My car is currently in for repairs for hail damage. Sucks so much to be without a car.

eeck that really sucks.... i am dealing with a clients mercedes at the moment where the windows keep leaking when it rains and mercedes say there is nothing wrong with the car, but everytime it rains the water leaks in....

How does that even happen?
Fuck knows! They did the service and replaced all the pipes and shit. Now the car is still blowing smoke out it's arse, and on top of that the radiator magically sprung 2 leaks and needs to be replaced now

And the problem is these guys always say it was like that when they got it. My car came back with the headlights not plugged in and the wheel nuts hadn't been tightened. Took it to my dad and we got it on a lift and completed their job.

Sounds like the kind of mechanic that replaced the "old" parts in your car with "new" parts
