it was ridcidulous i drove through one patch where the water was running onto my bonnet my car actualyl cut out in it

I will never take that chance. I fear the part where the car would cut out while in the water and I wouldn't know what to do if it doesn't start up again.

Did you have your sailor cap and oars ready? Probably shouldn't joke about it, can think there's a few people left stranded by it.

Someone I know once tried to drive a Jeep (I think) through such a deep puddle. The water splashed into the air intake and the whole engine just blew up.

Damn.

I remember a year or 2 ago? In Somerset West there is this bridge where the train goes over. It was during winter and the whole dip underneath the bridge was flooded.

I'm not 100% of the whole story, but a taxi driver took a full load of passengers through it. It went under with the people in it and they had to get out. Luckily no one was seriously injured.

Why is this day (and TK) taking so long to die?

What if... what if TK is Immortal!?

Set car to 1st and go, just don't change gears once commited, or step on the clutch for that matter, oh and if you drive an automatic don't even think about going into water higher than the exhaust, cause its gonna die.

Driven through loads of rivers on the farm with the old Datsun, you only need to be humiliated so many times to learn what to do.

Oh and I am back.... not planing to drive again in this bloody rain, its as if everyone forgot how to drive.

That doesn't sound right. The engine would just suffocate, not blow up. I think you've been lied to.

My colleague says the same thing here in CT. When it rains, it's like people just forget how to drive!

I wonder what my GTI would look like with a snorkel? I'm betting, pretty cool.

Nope, it definitely happened, something about hydrogen or something sciencey. I remember the car was a write off, he got a new one through insurance.

Edit: Think it was probably this: Hydrolock

Common damage modes include bent or broken connecting rods, a fractured head, a fractured block, crankcase damage, damaged bearings, or any combination of these.

Looks like I'm going to miss the execution of TK. Almost home time for me but first have to stop by a site. Give TK MK-VIII my best!
