Don't you love it when you have to go back to work because you have piles of work to do with a ridiculous deadline and your colleagues:
  • delete important files from the share drive
  • bring their kids and wives to work
  • sit in their chairs and sleep with their mouths hanging open

this was my day today

Indeed and thanks for the support. This time is just über tough for me and I'm struggling to see silver linings through all the dark, stormy clouds.

There's a song called "Storm" by Flying Colours which seems quite fitting in this time.

I know things are kak and can be tough and look bleak, but have a little faith. Just yesterday we found out the girlfriend had a complete miscarriage. Lift your worries to the Lord and have some faith, everything happens for a reason, we never know his plans.

Yeah, also haven't been sleeping too well the past week, so this is just making it worse. My throat has been feeling a little tender, especially in the morning. Hope I don't get sickies.
 
This business of waking up and going to work, getting home and going to sleep is bullshit! :mad:

Of 48 hours, I have spent 32 at work. Doesn't leave much time for anything else between sleeping and working.

Man, I feel for you and FarligOpptreden. That's really horrible. Are you almost done with all the imports? And will you get Friday off at least?

Should get Friday off, but will probably be working late again tonight and tomorrow night, so screw any plans we have for New Years eve. While the rest of the company is having a joll (incl our manager), we'll be sitting here, the five of us.

This is exactly why i left my last company and couldnt be happier at my previous Co i barely got to see my kid considering i was working late every night and most weekends too
 
Traffic update for those not in the mood for sitting in traffic...

Accident at Barbara Road on the R24 going away from the air port...I've looking at a red truck for the last 10 minutes through my office window....so it might be a while.

Last (and only) good deed for the year. :D

Update
Highway must be blocked, ppl are tuning around and driving back on the highway....basically against how the traffic normally flows, hope the road is blocked up further back

That is usually the start of something bad..it can be a precursor for the "it's not you, it's me" type talk.

or it could be the "...it only happened once..." conversation
