Ubisoft's new DRM already hacked

So does this mean if I go out and buy the game I wont be able to hack it and make offline functionality possible???
 
Soon the real games will have to come with a piece of hardware to play:p

PLease not!! I already have to use a USB dongle for a music sample library - you know how fkin kak that is? And, of course, its sold seperately.....
 
This is great news. That means I can still get my legal retail copy but hopefully circumvent that stupid DRM mechanism.

Yeah, that's exactly what I intend to do. Buy, crack and onto glorious hassle free gaming.

Seriously, who didn't predict this happening though (Besides Ubisoft of course)? Creating this DRM system was a waste of resources and money.
 
I have to admit I really like the ability to store my savegames online. It makes it so much easier to format and not worry about your save games. Games for Windows Live should do this online savegame thing. Heaven knows their current mechanism is CRUD and you can't backup your savegames properly either.

I plan on doing that too :) in the long run its only gonna help people... and without problems and hassles of not having Internet... for eg my internet keeps dropping at home and I dont always have Intl as im limited... so ja it SUCKS that they have to do this :rolleyes:

Like when they released Prince of Persia with no DRM, and everyone pirated it? Probably including you.

Also, thanks for the link, Neo. It's nice to read an account of the DRM that isn't fucking apocalyptic. This bit is particularly relevant, I think:

look i can understand what they want to do, they are going about it wrong. but hey they defended starforce to death...
