It means in that this time round Marvel is producing it themselves, Like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, instead of another studio. It means that it will probably be closer to the comic book cannon than the previous 3 movies. Also it means that Hollywood noticed that Nolan's Batman films made big bucks because it didn't shy away from the darker side of comics.

Spider-man, from comics got his spider powers from the radio active spider right. However he did not get the ability to "shoot" web naturally, instead he used science to come up with his web shooters. Haven't you ever watched a spider-man cartoon or read any of the comics? Only the symbiot suite could make webbing naturally.

Thank god you didn't ask why the girl is blond & called Gwen Stacey & not Mary-Jane Watson or I would have had to revoke your geek membership .

Didn't he create the web blasters at a later stage though and improve his mechanics of his suit??

Group of has been actors who had a brief good run with 2 (maybe 3) films teaming up again in hope of cashing in on a mostly forgotten 90s teen film.... Ill pass or wait for it to show up on netflix. I loved American Pie 2 and to some extent 3 but the series pretty much went down hill from there. Seeing socially awkward high school/colledge kids was funny, seeing a bunch of socially awkward adults alot less so, case in point American Pie 3. And from that trailer is looks like the film will be relying on the same jokes as the the first few films.
