Useful PC gaming gadgets you can buy in South Africa

Mouse Mungee FTMFW! I was looking for one for so long and couldn't find one. was going to import one from the US. Thanks for the link. I'm pretty sure I checked at Rebeltech before, but ey.
Edit: NVM out of stock -_- that's why.

i had the pc/gaming glasses then it was stolen with other items of mine at a computer event not to long ago :(

Just before the first LapDogs were announced, I was considering building my own, but using an aftermarket USB extension, so I did a bit of work on what it would cost. The prices these things are going at is ridiculous.

It's not even comfy. I have a couple of lap trays and I have used that to plonk a keyboard and mouse on.

See, I'd pad the hell out of the underside, with decent memory foam or something. Dunno what the takealot things you link use, but it actually looks as if it's a little better on the comfort front than the R3000 jobbie.

It's got those polystyrene balls in the base. So it conforms to the shape of your legs/surface you plonk it on. Just don't rip it or you'll have 1000s of the 1_styrofoam_balls_100pcs_2.jpg buggers everywhere.

Nice! What material keeps in all inside?

Like a thin polar fleece type material.

I've fixed the ones I have a couple of times now. For the most part it's a board, some polystyrene balls, piece of cloth that is stapled to the underside of the board and an edging around to make it nice.

When the balls come out I just stuff them again. When the edging comes off I use 605888286_442.JPG these plastic paper binder stuff which i just cut to size as they just cover the staples and makes it look kinda nice.

Come to think of it, I should make these and sell them as "Gaming" products. I could sell them for R1k a pop.

Hell if I mount a generic wireless keyboard and mouse to it I could sell it for R2500

Hmmm....

That's exactly what I was thinking of back then, I think a lot of the price comes from the import, rather than manufacturing costs. If you build from scratch, I'd look at laser cut and bending a base for small batches, larger batches with stamped trays.
