Don't you game exclusively on PC, though? I which case this shouldn't affect you at all.
This is just an unfortunate side-effect that console gamers have to deal with. When they were released, the new consoles were already being outperformed by midrange PCs. If someone wants to game with a console, that's just something they'll have to make peace with. It sucks that the game won't run at the resolution the devs originally thought it would, but if someone doesn't like this kind of thing happening they shouldn't have chosen a console as their gaming device.
If graphics fidelity is the most important thing for someone, they should be gaming on PC. That's not elitism, it's just the way things work. Back in the day when I bought my PS3, I was aware that I was going to have to deal with sacrifices in the graphics department when I buy games for it.
