If these forums are renowned for anything, it should be that! :D

As for the being mean to new users, well, it is amazing how many new members suddenly wish to join when a new competition is running and the criteria for entering is so easily attainable. Yeah, I joined here after having been on MyBB forums for a while and then saw the Red Dead compo, but 6 months later and 1200+ posts later, i'm still here. People should also learn to take things with some salt. I've seen regulars here get slated badly on certain topics and called out on others, but like big boys, we carry on with life. I've seen some guys get into it quite heavily today and tomorrow they are cracking jokes at each other. As somebody once pointed out, it is the internet, get used to it.

If you want to see some forums where the members see themselves as Gods and completely decimate new users, go look at the SAIX forums, specifically the Battlefield sub-forum.

I've been a member for not a long while now and have just barely reached the 20 posts mark, even though i do enjoy catching up with all the latest news in the gaming world on MyGaming, I hardly ever find time to post. And the fact that I can enter i competition is just a bonus and I hope to get my post count up, but I only post in forums that interest me....PS3:) As for the the rudeness......I'm glad I haven't came across any of that yet but I believe that everything should be taken with a pinch of salt. As for those of you who have been here a while and feel it is unfair upon you, it is completely understandable

Yes I can see how that can be annoying. A silly comment with nothing to support it.
I can see how you want to judge the noobies in the beginning to see if they gonna be a random poster or someone who posts sensible comments.
 
I, for one, have NEVER been rude to any of the new members. I am a very polite and respectful forumite who always thinks about what I'm saying before I post. I never, ever argue with my fellow forum members and always avoid confrontation. I also never make topics that are not highly educational and beneficial to the forum.

Sorry dude, thats quite a bold statement.

Then again, there are some who just strongly propose their opinions.
 
I take pride in being friendly and welcoming people, but Larch was just a dick.
