Web Africa Home Uncapped gaming: details

Hey, I can pay with my credit card and I have complete access to invoices and statements--things I never had with OpenWeb. I feel significantly more at ease utilising them.
Openweb was slightly above ODS in that regard. As I've said maybe they managed to pull their billing act together, because it was really quite horrible to say the least. I also had one support ticket never being solved due to their lack of ability to do so, in fact it was just left alone, each time they close it, but it was never solved.

What's "ODS?"

Hmmm... Sounds dodgy. I like to think that since they got their own network running that they have a lot more control over their policies and any problems that crop up.

I've always gotten the impression that they're willing to help wherever they can. But time will tell. If in a few months I'm back here going off on an epic BT Games-style rant, you know what happened :p

WA's control panel is the best, I think. Next is Afrihost.

Hey, what can I say? If I'm impressed then I'm impressed :p

What RedAfrica account do you have (what size, I mean)?

30Gb normal usage + 100 Gb after hours. 12am - 6am I think. + Freezone.

Be glad you don't know, it's imho no1 worst isp ever.

At least with your opinion on that we can really know how they compare to mweb or openweb.

Lol, as above reply ;)

Re the Freezone, awesome news indeed! Just had a look at the info page again and see that it has been added. Big up to the WA guys.

I've not had any issues with their billing either. So far their tech guys have been quite good and the only problem I had was dealt with when I sent them a well worded email voicing my concerns. Problem was solved within 30mins.

As for the usage, I haven't pushed the limits yet and will test it out to see just what happens. But for me, it gives the freedom to use the internet without racking up huge bills. So far my gaming hasn't been affected but this also will be tested during the course of the month.

Oh yes, most definitely!

Not bad at all!

Ouch. I'll take your word for it.

I've tried every uncapped ISP out there and the two worst ISPs I came across were Digichilli and Imagine. Fortunately I was given a refund from both.

Oh yeah, I'm passionate (read: batshit) like that. If I'm happy I'm over the bloody moon; if not, I rant like a wife upset that her husband came home at two in the morning. Although it takes a bit of nudging to really upset me.

I'm such a drama queen :D

I'll admit, I'm a bit nervous of reaching the threshold, but I'm curious to see how performance is afterwards. I have no desire to "push it" just to test it though, will wait until I have something significant to download.

I've been using the MWeb 4Mb uncapped account for the last month. I'm sorry but what a crappy account. I downloaded like 5Gb of data and probably used about the same on gaming and I've experienced such a crappy service that Some nights I can't even browse.

Nevermind the horrible ping rates I get. Before you say check you line, already did and I have a prepaid WA account and I have brilliant pings and no hassles, even when playing BF3 on an MWeb server.

So I will definitely be moving over to WA since a quality service and people that actually provide customer support are available at WA.

I had the same experience with MWeb. I was with them for one month, cancelled three days in. Some people have a great experience with them and others not so much. So far my experience with WA is superb. Highly recommend them.

I am so upgrading to a WebAfrica 1mb/s uncapped account next year. Just waiting to see if my current ISP (Axxess) try's to meet WA's offers or not. Unlikely though. Finally ISP's are offering more and more affordable uncapped options.
WebAfrica for the Win!!
