Yeah I would rather go i5 if I were you. Just as a matter of interest sake there is a guy with a Hex AMD setup and it measures lower 7 on the windows 7 rating. My i5 is 7.4
Check Tom's Hardware for a benchmark analysis. They are pretty good and show value / price comparison
my 1055T stock hits 7.4, ocing brings it up to 7.8
Shit, must have been yours that I saw. What I was thinking is that the price is a couple hundred higher between yours and mine. So to go for the 1055T compared to i5 2500k, hmm tough.
Also the problem comes in between the upcoming Ivy Bridge vs Bulldozer?
Anyone know the price range of the bulldozer?
Another thing to remember is the 1055t runs at 6 threads while I'm pretty sure the new i5 range also runs 8 threads like the new i7 2600k range. Go read up a bit on that. It makes quite a significant difference in performance. Just my 5c![]()
not sure To0ken
check this

the i5 2500k runs 4 cores, 4 threads....
Yep, i3 and i7 are hyper threaded. i5's aren't. Don't quite know why they do it that way but thats just the way they chose, money sucking a... holes lol.
Just do a lot of research though, I was even told that the middle range motherboards supporting intel are better then the motherboards of middle range amd's.
I don't know how much that would influence your opinion in choosing brand but it made me go from AMD to Intel. I had a budget of 3g's and was advised to rather go Intel because of the motherboards being better in my price bracket
