What was the first game you ever FINISHED

I think mine was Rockman 1, but it was long ago. Another game that sticks out was Bionic commander on the GameBoy, flip I loved that game!

I honestly can't remember the first game I finished - it was played on an orange monochrome monitor. For the life of me I can't even remember what the game was like.

After that we had Alley Cat, then later on commander keen. Also finished all the kings quest, space quest, police quest and quest for glory games. as well as monkey island. . . .

And not forgetting Day of the tentacle

Got my Golden China console for Christmas 1988, I got two games with it: Tag Team Wrestling (Which didn't have an ending as far as I know) and Hokuto no Ken (Based of the Fist of the North Star anime, which I only found out now trying to Google the game I remembered playing) That was the first game I finished.

That game had many misleading doors that will cause you to run in circles. Trial and error and good memory helped a lot. Damn, thinking about it now, games from the old days actually helped kids improve.

Double Dragon 2 on the nes.
I played it through again but it was a real chore.
Had never seen a game ending in my life before but knew that the story was going to end eventually.

Ultima VIII Pagan.

What an epically amazing game!!

I doubt I would play it again, unless they remastered it of course <3

Probably not the first game I finished but the one that felt like a great achievement at the time was finishing... now this is embarrassing... Pocahontus "whistling:

The platform was a Sega Megadrive II that I had rented for the weekend. I've played through the game one or two times more after I had bought my own Megadrive and the Pocahontus game (for my sister I tell you!). It's actually not a bad game to be honest...

The earliest possible game that I may have finished would've been on my dad's old Atari XL800 but I don't think I ever completed those games as they were pretty tough/endless.

first game that i can remember was

Bomber Man

Platform
NES clone (excellence Computer)

Ending
the ending if i remember correctly was Bomber Man running and at the bottom of the screen it said bomber man becomes lode runner

I can't actually recall the ending, but I do know that I spent many 20c coins playing it. And I finished it more than once.

I was actually 90% sure the first game i finished was Warcraft... Then i read this comment... O my SACK! This game was my all time favorite game EVER on my golden China! And damn if got hard! Im remembering now the "hall of mirrors" type stage near the end, And the "mirror match" when you fight yourself... That game was so epic... I would actually love to play it again...

Street fighter 2 at the arcades (not in SA).
Mom gave me 3 coins (think they were 1 bucks), finished the game using 2 and bought myself an icecream cone. :p

To this day, I can still pull off Ken's shoryuken like a bot to counter Bison's rolling kick

YES! Wow forgot about the mirror match! DD2 was also my favourite nes game growing up. Actually been watching a great "lets play" of the game since typing the comment. Looks like its still holds up gameplay wise and graphics are not bad at all considering it was made in 1988 and on an 8-bit machine.

Just also wanna add that the Sierra Quest games as mentioned be Wyvern are what made me learn to spell and be the grammar nazi I am. Nobody understands what "opin door" or "drop kees" means, let alone those parsers :D

ahh good times....

I know right! Altho I was reading english, so my spelling never really was an issue. I just always got a bit frustrated with: Open door - nothing happens, oh wait unlock door. . . open door, go through the door. . . It felt like I was writing a book!

...but that's what made it FUN! You were kinda writing the narrative FOR the game. :p
