What's the most stuck you've ever gotten in a game?

Lol, of all things...... Splinter Cell1......

Somewhere near the end of the game there's a spot where you're supposed to do that special double jump (jump while having the wall to your left or right so that you can press jump again and it you shove yourself higher). I had only done it twice before (tTutorial and first mission), so I had completely forgotten that it was an option.

Thought the game was bugged out. Two days later I mashed the jump button in frustration and managed to get to the ledge....

I was like :confused::rolleyes::cool:

NFS Carbon also had me pulling my hair out. For the life of me I could never finish the last race of the game. I can still hear all the tire screeching, even from just changing lanes on a straight stretch of road. Barf.

Lol.. i remembered playing GTA Vice City and i'm still stuck at the level where we need to explode the ruined/unfinished building with small chopper.. And also the other part where we need to drive a boat.

The one I remember the most is one of the later Tomb Raiders - PS1 generation though - there was this seemingly arbitrary section that looked like a greenhouse. Anyway, I cleared the bad guys in the area and there was no obvious puzzle to solve. I was simply at a dead-end. I looked and looked, but didn't know how to carry on (this was before internet was as accessible).

Anyway, a few months later and I'm laughing about it with my mate because I'm supposed to be the Tomb Raider master - show him the room and, I kid you not, in 5 seconds he was like "Doesn't that metallic pillar look like a ladder?"

Jaw dropped. It was in my face the WHOLE time, but because this was a "newer" Tomb Raider, the ladder was able to be camouflaged (skinned) and I wasn't accustomed to it in that kind of game (the fact that ladders were at funny angles didn't help).

Such a silly story, but months of head-scratching...!

EDIT: Found the exact section.

The most stuck I've ever been on a game is Heavenly Sword for the PS3. The end boss battle is so ridiculously difficult/cheap that I didn't bother finishing the game.

Tomb Raider underworld on of those underwater levels where you have thor's glove/hammer (just remembers your left hand glows green)

I'm currently stuck in Nier. The fighting and all that is easy. I'm stuck at a fishing quest. I just can't do the fishing part at all! I've tried for so long and it's so bloody frustrating. I watched videos now and read up about it so I will try again tomorrow. If I don't come right tomorrow then I'm going to bury the game in the garden.

Worst design in a game ever!

I have two games, from when I was much younger.

Need for speed underground 1, I was stuck on one of the "rival" / "boss" races.
Harry Potter 1, I could never defeat Quirrell (end boss).

This is also before I had internet access so no way to get a hint or walkthrough etc.

I remember that. I got stuck on that level for a while. I loved underworld one of my favorite tomb raiders.

Diablo 3 (RoS) Torment 1.

Still haven't got the adequate gears to tackle torment 2.
This is after spending 1000+ shards on gambles, billions in gems/rerolls, and even piggy backing public torment 2 games >.<

Champion mobs on Torment 2 doesn't even need to stomp, they just need to breathe a little heavy and my character will die lol.
Can check out my noob D3 characters ---------------------------------------------------V (or somewhere near here)

I got stuck in Thief: The Dark Project in the Down in the Bonehoard mission for nearly a year, filled with continual reinstalls, mission restarts, etc. It was only once I turned up the brightness levels (which you're not supposed to do seeing as you won't be able to tell where the shadows are) that I could see the ladder behind a pillar that took me to the upper level.

Meh, I was 14 at the time. Probably too many drugs. That and no internet.

Ratchet and Clank 2. I was stuck on a level for 3 months. When I finally found the solution, it was button on the floor that I somehow missed the hundreds of times I must have been in that room.

Tomb Raider 4: So many times. Worst was in that level with multiple areas to enter, I remember running pointlessly between them, trying to find missing artifacts. It ended up that I ran out of medkits, trying to climb through spaces with unkillable spirits chasing me. Only like I finished this game like few years later until I got proper walktroughs.

Indiana Jones and Infernal Machine: Multiple times, but doable after half of day wandering.

Doom 2: That arena level with flame-thrower beasts and electric spiders.

Command and Conquer TD: Hardly managed to get past level 4(apc vs tanks!?),6(only one guy!),11(that damn flame tank!) for GDI. And missions 4(that's army? Are you kidding!?), 6(Again...) and so on for NOD. Pretty much every no-base mission or mission that starts a long before actual base.

Red Alert 2: Final Mission for Allies and Pre-Final Mission for Soviets.

Rage of Mages/Allods 2: Pretty much towards middle game, until recently, something 10 years. (This game is not playable without proper multiplayer experience)

Tome raider a number of times i got stuck and spent a few hours working around it. God of war a couple of times too.

Too date nothing has really frustrated me, other than the Trials bike series, some of those courses make me mad!

Glad to see Tomb Raider stumped quite a lot of folks here :p. It was frustrating but I kind of miss that kind of difficulty. Seldom do you find that in games these days. Feels like most hold your hands constantly.

Last race (against Griff) in SSX yesterday, is all my brain is allowing me to remember right now.
