Where do YOU draw the line? What offends YOU?

"Hashtaging" essentially sums up a text or statement - leaving little reason why the entire statement is there to begin with.

It's the hipser take on TL;DR:

Back in my day people would post 100 word replies to questions and read it without batting an eye. Years later, said replies would be seen as walls of text, so the TL;DR was born. Fast forward to the Twitter generation and even a TL;DR-size chunk of info is too much to digest, so the #hashtag is born.

TL;DR: Modern people are too lazy to read.

Was actually going to make a mention of TL;DR, but felt it to be unnecessary. Guess you did me a favour - lol.

Edit: The world as we know it now will end when: #TL;DR becomes a thing. Ugh... I shudder at the idea.

(would've been SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE had there not been a bloody 10char minimum requirement)

Yeah, but remember, it's usually followed by a statement/more text, which are at least 2 sentences long. Unless you really just want to add #TL;DR.

Aaaaaand it's turned into a pet peeves thread :P

Yeah, I really hate it when that happens :D

So, articles about games turn into philosophical debates and a thread intended to explore personal philosophies and edgy debate turn into a pet peeve listing.

This is why I love this forum

Being a Christian, it kinda bugs me when people say "Jesus Christ" to exclaim frustration or instead of another swearword. I usually don't act on it and "take it with a pinch of salt" (as has been recommended in this thread), but when people take it too far and use phrases like "Jesus f***ing Christ" (or similar) it gets on my nerves.

Other than that I get HIGHLY irritated when people call me a liar to my face or believe I'm out to do them harm. I'm altruistic and helpful by nature, so taking a shot at my good nature makes me blow more than a few fuses.

This is pretty much me too. When it happens on the internet though, I simply ignore it and don't get drawn into the discussion. I've read the whole Fisting thread as it unfolded, but didn't really care to comment.

With regards to someone calling me a liar, I make a point of it to be honest, even when tempted otherwise in tough situations. So if someone calls me a liar, it is a direct attack on my character so I'm instantly offended and angry.

Another thing that is offensive (or maybe it just pisses me off), but this mostly relate to the Christian community, is when people / preachers quote scriptures out of context to try and "proof" their weird / wrong statements. I suppose these idiots who predicted the end of the world a couple of times (incorrectly, seeing as we're still here), would also fall under this area. Christianity isn't too popular as it is and nonsense like this simply make Christians seem like nuts.

I don't think that I am actually offended by much. Maybe I am offended by people with a total disregard for other people's physical and mental well-being. Other than that, there are certain things that I think are done in poor taste or inappropriately, but very little actually offends me.

I am only offended when i see someone posting or bragging about animals being hurt. eg. hunting or people who post how its so sad that animals are put in shelters but do nothing to help them.

Animal cruelty is something that gets me as well. Even IF it is a prank video - consider the poor animal's feelings.

For me, its all kinds of things. These days my tolerance level for the crap on 9gag and especially hiddenlol is non existent. Altho the guys I game with for the most part have learnt that I dont tolerate it any more, so they share the links privately. I dont mind good clean funny jokes, even some borderline jokes I am fine with, but of late I have noticed that I just dont have the patience for idiotic and childish behaviour.

It's nigh impossible to offend me if I'm honest... Annoyance is almost the peak to be honest. I'm annoyed by stereotypes and blanket associations that bring up presumptions about different people (a few people probably know how I feel about the concept of individuality). Also, the lack of nuance in arguments between people annoys me a bit... But offense? Not even a little...

I dont get offended by anything really but can not stand cruelty towards animals or the disabled and kids disrespecting the elderly in front of me.

A lot gets me ticked tbh, but I think it is mainly because I have a shorter fuse than the average person.

Main things that get me irritated is lack of space (physical) and waiting for people to do things before I can do what I need to do.
Also I am a Christian so blasphemy gets to me, don't mind swearing but as the fellow poster said, I second.

Is it considered blasphemy if you're non-religious and use it? Christians reading it may find it blasphemous.
