Which older games are you still playing to this day?

TheAvenged87

Not Robin
I figured this thread might yield some interesting results. I have so many new games, but at the moment, I am properly stuck into Final Fantasy VII (about 19 hours in now, on my way to Nibelheim).

What games are you playing to this day that are not considered current?

EDIT: Think big...like +5 years.

I really don't know if supreme commander FAF counts

Heroes of might and magic 3 I will always play and do play a lot. Ever since I got the demo in a nag I havent stopped playing it at all. 12 years or so.

Every year I complete Deus Ex at least once. I've been doing this for nearly 10 years already. I love the game and can truly say that there is not a lot that anyone can tell me about it.

I also enjoy the odd game of UT99 as it brings back very fond memories.

Does Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas count?

Every time there's a new mod that adds quest(s), I get back to playing it. :D
Most Bethesda games have long term community support

No they don't really, they are only like two years old. I'm talking OLD :D
Updated OP.

Another one that I play on/off is Sim City 4. Man, that was probably the peak of the series.
Some others that I intend to play soon:

Final Fantasy VII / VIII / IX / X / X-2 / XII
Grand Theft Auto 3 / Vice City / San Andreas

Well i still play Forza 2 and WWE 2007/8/9 and 10 with my brother in law we do all the rumbles and elimination chambers

IS this your first FF 7 play through? I loved FFVII, but recently downloaded FF VIII, Its my absolute favorite... The main weapon, Lion Heart, is just insane... Its such a great story line... and the card games are always awesome... They just dont make Final Fantasy games like they used to... Im a big fan of the CG, but it seems like the concentrate too much on it...

No, second. I played all the original PS FFs (not 1-6) when they came out...but started to miss them, so I bought them again digitally on PSN. That's kind of what inspired this thread. Even though I have 200+ "newer" games, I spend my time playing a game from many, many years ago.

^This.

Does MAME count?
God Hand, absolutely love this, one of the main reasons I still have a PS2
Tenchu - Wrath of Heaven
Power Stone

MAME probably counts, I mean the games are really old on there, so yeah.

I am also trying to stock up on PS2 games that are essentials, so this is also a nice thread to fish out what other people enjoy on that console.

I replay The Longest Journey and Dreamfall at least once a year, as well as random games of UT2004 (I was never a fan of UT99 - but I love 2004!)

Alundra. I am drawn back to it at least once a year. It was the very first game I got on PS1 and it brings back great feelings of nostalgia whenever I play it. I think it was quite rare as no one I know has ever heard of it, but it was a great game back in the day with some insanely difficult puzzles.

Can you get FF X and X-2 on the PSN? I never had a PS2 so never got a full play through of X, but the little i did play i enjoyed... I really enjoyed BlitzBall!

The HD remake comes out in March on PS3. I have them both on PS2, though.

I've started playing many old games and finished even fewer. To this day I am still trying to finish the original Tomb Raider without cheating to get past any of the levels. I recently replayed System Shock 2 (it's possibly one of my all time favourite games) when it was re-released on GOG/Steam and to this day it still holds up pretty well, provided you install all the improvement mods out there. FF6 on the SNES, FF7 on Steam, FFX on PS3 when the HD Remaster comes out later this year. :)

Old games that I still play on occasion or have yet to complete:

Titan Quest Immortal Throne
Dragon Age Origins
Left 4 Dead
