Why there are no South African Servers for Battlefield 1 yet

and this is why I refuse to pre-order the game until i know all the facts. For all we know they can pull a Titanfall on us and not host any local servers, which means this is one game I will not spend my money on.

Well that's exactly my view. Given that Battlefront doesn't even have local servers, I honestly don't see why they would shift their stance now. Maybe that's reason for them being so vague? :confused:
 
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. If the local servers are added, then happy days. Otherwise... move on to another game.
 
Hmm, I played the beta yesterday and my ping was sub 100ms? :confused: So it must have been a South African server? It also had a lot of players with ZA in their name too.

Chances are the bar graph was blocking the the first digit... look harder!

Nope, enable the performance / network monitor under Gameplay > Advanced and you will see your true ping. Best i have seen using Telkom Internet is about 190ms [green on the monitor] using a 10Mbps ADSL line.

I think they should've had atleast one for us for the beta, it can't cost too much surely "whistling:.

I don't see why they would shift their stance when comparing to BF4. Battefront didn't work like BF4 and isn't even the same franchise, and it had no server browser. Even though it doesn't have a server browser at the moment, that is only for the Beta. Also Battlefront wasn't as popular, not that battlefield 1 is released yet. But going on it has similar gameplay to BF4 and is a part of the same franchise I suspect it will be popular.

EDIT: i'm not saying anything about preorders, just don't think these are things to be to worried about.
