Are you planning to upgrade to Windows 10?

On my laptop I opted for the skip key option when I booted off the USB, at the end I got a this key has been blocked by the activation server... Installed Windows 8 again, activated and just ran the setup from the ISO from within Windows 8. Told it to keep nothing during the install (aka fresh install) and that worked fine. Used a vbs script to get my keys to store for later use (Retail keys)

I have a feeling that I might have used the same key for my Desktop & Laptop, Seeing that I have about 6 or so legal key's, will never know.

Thanks for the feedback, gents.

Just used the ISO on my usb and never got asked for the key so maybe after the first upgrade it is automatic.

I am itching to force update. But have heard a few horror compatible software stories. So I think i might hold out just a little more before taking the plunge !

Well i had to go back to win 7/8

Cisco vpn not working on 10 :/

did you use the latest version as anything in win 8 should work fine as it seems to do for me.

Edit: Well the second reinstall was way faster on my old laptop than the first, hoping that my Lan and wifi finally work this time or I will have to go back to Vista business.

Yup did was working in tech preview, full blown win 10 dont for some reason...

Trying a fresh install on a vm

So anyone tried out Cortana yet?

Yeah its pretty cool, pretty much just tested out the search functions etc, but it seems just like any other voice search features. I like that you can just say stuff like "will it be raining on Saturday?", and she will answer you and give the forecast. You need to enable location services to get the full use also. Pretty much just like Siri.

There is probably a lot of stuff I don't know about her yet, I should try to get to know her better.

Havnt heard of that since windows 98 :D

I know can't seem to get it fixed so using my usb wireless adapter atm for internet connection.

Tried every driver possible and disabling devices and no luck with getting rid of the resource error code 12

Still same error with clean install

So I made the jump and installed Win 10 on my home PC. The upgrade was pretty smooth sailing. Any neat features that I should check out?
