*WINNER ANNOUNCED* Epic giveaway: Win a 1TB PlayStation 4

Love the PC gaming sections. Reviews on games with a South African flavour. The community helps you solve a lot of issues. Game specials is also helpful.

PC builds for different budget groups.

I like that mygaming.co.za reports on current and future games as well as the reviews. The news and reports are factual and provides a interesting read in the mornings before I start my day. Even the comparisons and top 10 of... never fails to impress.

Indie developer/games spotlight

AAA games are not of the same standard they were 10 years before. Indie games often have more depth than the AAA titles, and the AAA companies believe they can get away with the sub-par standards and same rinse-and-repeat content, since they have such a strong fanbase they built up over the years.

My recommendation is to have a (weekly?) spotlight for indie devs and their games (pick a dev that impressed you/game that impressed you)

The thing i like most about MyGaming is that you are able to keep up to date will all the latest games and reviews, as well as upcomoing games, across all platforms. It is always interesting to see what new or remastered games are coming to the market, as well as getting the mails about the digital and retail specials that are available. MyGaming is a definite must for any and all tech enthusiast.

Keep doing what you are doing - this forum RULES! :p

Interesting...what do you want to see to keep me coming back...
I have been around the block. Built my very own first pc with very little information and experience.
Where did I find the information? Few magazines were available.

Then all of a sudden there was a boom in magazine that flooded the market. Some locally published, with SOME local content.
Letters, interesting articles and very few competitions were published in these magazines.
Some of the local magazines were not too bad at all. I am specifically thinking here of SA Computer Magazine. I actually wrote a few articles for them too.
It's then almost as if the publishers became really lazy and decided to simply just import the magazines at very high prices.
To market their magazines and increase sales, the publishers included the "free" cd/dvd with "amazing" contents!
Basically the South African public had to pay lots of money for a magazine with no local content.

Then content became more readily available as the internet grew. All of a sudden the magazines had to keep up which was extremely difficult. Most local magazines seized publication to the disappointment of many readers.

However, now we have websites such as www.mygaming.co.za available. Amazing!!
Local content, written by local people!!
Some suggestions which will ensure me coming back:
1. Local content
2. Content about local products (software) - Achievements of South African people
3. Short, to the point articles
4. Reviews of affordable products
5. Competitions, competitions, giveaways, giveaways
6. Keep it LOCAL (yes, it is listed again)

Thanks and I look forward to reading interesting LOCAL content!

Friggin Awesome Give Away!! This is the only thing my son wants for his Bday so Fingers crossed cause I will be the coolest Mom ever in his eyes if I pull this off!

Why do I love this site? Cause I get honest reviews on games, which really helps when trying to buy for the kids and for my boyfriend as they all like different games! The forum is also great have found some really helpful tips just browsing, haven't needed to ask for any major help yet but it will be the first place i come when i do need it cause everyone seems really open to answering questions without trying to make people feel stupid like a lot of other forums i have checked out.

What would i like to see from you? weekly newsletter actually being sent weekly they haven't been very regular in the past...would definitely get someone like me to the site more often.

I love the community everyone friendly and helpful on forums and I love the gaming articles so I know what to expect when a new game comes out.
Currently these 2 things are what keeps me coming back so keep it up! :)

Let's be honest...the competitions and giveaways are great here! Also has the added benefit of having a helping hand. I would like to see more community interaction, team effort competitions and hopefully better data deals benefits by being a member of the MyGaming community after all that's what we all need.

What I like most:
The sense of community. MyGaming has managed to establish an affinity with gamers across all sub-segments of the market. The space welcomes sharing thoughts, ideas and opinions on various types of games, styles of gameplay and comprising multiple platforms. Also of much interest is the insight provided into the lifestyles of fellow gamers.

What I would like to see:
Ratings charts / tables, whether by means of test results or members' votes, of the best performing and also best value for money gaming hardware, perhaps similar to the information available from sites like Tom's Hardware.

I'd like to see some more interesting articles and opinion pieces. Tarryn van der Byl used to do great work here back in the day, but that was a long time ago. Just copying popular news stories or doing top 10's isn't enough to create a fan base that will come to the site regularly. There needs to be something unique. :)

Deep deep in my mancave you'll find me clicking away on all news regarding upcoming games and anything ps4 related! I've tried to step out the house once...the graphics was amazing but the gameplay and storyline was dull...hahaha!

I've been a loyal follower of MyGaming since 2013 when I first stumbled upon an article about "the most anticipated games of 2013" written by Jeremy Proome. Every since it has been my primary source for gaming information in South Africa and far succeeded in satisfying my inner-geek. I've never joined the forum (don't really know why - I keep hearing its an awesome community) but have been on the site every single day. One thing that I can commend MyGaming for is content...everyday there's something to satisfy the soul. One thing that I would is being the fastest gunslinger when it comes to game reportings...there's a bit of a delay regarding that. However, everything posted in current, relevant and to the point, and I like that. I like the idea that it's not about upcoming games but also exciting developments in the hardware department =).

I've been saving up for a Playstation the past two years and every PS4 article that gets released just makes me foam (as if I swalloed a dry Berocca) by the mouth purely out of sheer excitement. The more I read the more badly I want to own a PS4...

Thank you for all the great news! looking forward to many years more!

I am very new to this Forum, but already I love the sense of community and lots of information on different gaming platforms.

I'd like to see more details on hardware and compatible games for the lower end gaming market, and not just games and machines which cost more tan the house of the people using them.

What I love most about MyGaming is the fact that I am always kept updated with the latest news regarding gaming and technology around gaming. The community is really awesome and interactions with the community has always been smooth.

I would love it if MyGaming could have more competitions and giveaways and possibly host gaming tournaments to promote e-sports.

More preferences...

I love the fact that I get my daily dosage of MyGaming via email. I can then pick and chose which articles I would like to read. MyGaming is always my first point of reference when looking for review roundups on a game I would like to purchase.

I would like to see the capability to filter which articles get emailed to me on a daily basis. For example; I only want to see articles around game reviews, RPGs, Hardware, etc. So only display the articles on my daily email that I'm interested in or alternatively sort the articles so that the ones I would be interested in are at the top, yet I still have the ability to go and read articles that catch my eye towards the end of my daily email.

Ermagerd!!!!

Awesome giveaway!

/end rant

Let me cut straight to the chase and cut all the sappy stuff haha. What I like best about MyGaming is the community. As simple as that. I've tried other South African gaming forums and there is one in particular which I won't mention but other forums have very toxic members that spew inflammatory comments and go into a feeding frenzy targeting individual members unfortunately at the said person's expense. I guess this causes increased traffic to the forum which is much needed but I was appalled to see that this was allowed by moderators and they even support and take part in the bullying of members.

Well enough about that. Honestly I see MyGaming as a safe haven - my own little private corner of the interwebz where I can just chill with mature and friendly people that are willing to help me with gaming questions.

Admittedly there are extended periods of time where I don't visit this site and that brings me to what can be improved about this site. What drew me in the past was the witty and funny articles that Tarryn wrote. Those were funny.

We need writers with a good sense of wit and humour giving their own personal viewpoints on things. Don't be afraid to individualize things - take risks, encourage writers to start their own "brand" of writing. Give us something to talk about!

Another thing, don't just post generic gaming news, every other site is doing that. If writers don't take pride and pour their soul into an article, no one would bother to read it quite frankly. What will really set a site apart is genuinely interesting articles/discussions about not just games, but geek culture i.e comics, series, tech, anime, esports, merchandise vendors etc. too! Think of ways to set this forum apart from other forums.

A sizable and decent community is absolutely fundamental, it's the lifeblood of a forum. But like the body you need a healthy heart i.e writers constantly pumping out good articles, discussions to keep the momentum going. It will really help if staff engage with forum members where appropriate.

Develop the MyGaming brand!

Like the most: Reviews based on specific consoles.
Would like to see: Video reviews and quicker news/reviews releases. Maybe even bit more personal, give it a MyGaming stamp.
