*WINNER* Coolermaster Storm Quick Fire Pro Mechanical Keyboard with iGame Online

My keyboard has let me down when I spilled coffee all over it and I had to wait a few days after washing it off to dry out.

As I am ill more often than I probably should be, and considering where I spend so much of my time, I think that my medical history corroborates this research.

a new keyboard would come i handy, as I found that my previous keyboards were never quite the same after being immersed in disinfectant....

I've had the same MS keyboard for about 6 years now and have never been let down by it but the keys are starting to fade or in some cases completely gone and I was looking at getting a mechanical keyboard to go with my new rig. A few of my friends have switched over to using mechanical keyboards and they say once you get used to using it you will never look back.

I remember playing Tie Fighter on my pc and then my cat decided it wanted attention so it jumped up on my desk and started to walk over my keyboard. I found it funny at first until he accidently pressed the eject button and my poor pilot blasted into space.

This is a true story:

My girlfriend and I were visiting a good mate. After having a few drinks, we booted up my PC to show him some new games. While perusing my desktop, he asked "What's Diablo 2?"

:O

We immediately booted up all 3 PCs and lanned it. For 72 hours solid.

About 40 hours in, the most epic piece of headgear drops. We all were ready to have a fistfight for it, but resorted to rock-paper-scissors. We went for it... ching... chong... cha! Girlfriend wins. In her fit of absolute bliss, she knocks her vodka and lemonade onto my keyboard. I had to play for the next 30-odd hours with only my mouse, and the one or two keys that still worked.

My Keyboard has yet to let me down.. In fact I've spilled coke, coffee and milk onto it and all the buttons are in working condition..

Epic moment: Me and a couple of my mates decided to have a lan and my one friend played GH3 which was nice and all but he can play DragonForce, Through Fire and Flames on hyperspeed 5x(true story :3) but his keyboard wouldnt allow him to push more than 3 buttons at a time. With alot of doubt I offered my keyboard to try and resolve the probem and to our amazement he was able to press 4 buttons at a time.. So he continued to own that song and many others to such an extent that he offered to buy my keyboard from me... I considered it but remained loyal as my keyboard has been loyal to me throughout his lifetime..

Does work rage count where my keyboard saved me from punching a colleague? The "esc" key is missing to this day...

Gaming wise, as a coffee addict, there is always coffee next to my keyboard, which inevitably had to spill on my keyboard. After repeated cleaning and drying, my "w" key got stuck now and again, and as I mainly play FPS games this was quite annoying as it would get stuck at the worst times of course - as Murphy would have it. This included (but was not limited to) driving off of cliffs, failed sneak attempts (a lot), walking into enemy invested rooms/areas (after releasing the key at entrances of course), and just walking in general, lots of walking...

Ahh, this reminds me of the fail Logitech bluetooth keyboard I bought quite a while ago. The signal would screw up sometimes after you hold a button for while and would then continue to activate for another 2-3 seconds after letting go. The multiple team kills and carnage this caused in BF2 choppers was hilarious. :)

These things always fail when you least need them to. So I'm in the middle of a huge game with friends, with money on the outcome. I make it to the final, with 8 players remaining. It's coming down to the wire, I'm in first place, but only by a whisker. With about 5 minutes remaining, the unthinkable happens. My 'W' key goes. It's all over. :D

My keyboard hasn't been the same since a button got stuck during a dead space session and I put my fist through it. The back is cracked and for some odd reason even more buttons are now getting stuck so its preventing me from gaming on the pc.

I have a wireless keyboard which battery indicator started flashing red indicating that the batteries were dying and I was like meh it'll be ok. So, halfway through a tense game of dota, my hotkeys stop responding and I got thinking, do I continue with mouse only and no caliing mia's and hotkeys etc. or do I just suck it up and run downstairs and steal batteries from remotes/xbox controllers and sacrifice some exp. Well, I got lazy and played the remainder of the game using my mouse. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty.

I was playing Eve Online last night and due to some sticky key's on my R29 keyboard my targeting key got stuck and I targeted a Friendly Jump gate. Lets just say I didn't have time to get away and lost my expensive ship.

I remember when I was a wee young lad, was at a LAN.

Was playing a Q3A DM against a very good player and I was in the lead. My keyboard died while in the middle of the match. I asked if we could pause the match and he said no. So I sat there like a sitting duck for 5 min.

Once the match was done, I unplugged my keyboard and smashed it against the wall.

My keyboard doth come with many a tale
Most are as boring as sin
But I shall recount over a pint of ale
The one that shall make you grin

You see it involves some suspicious fluid
That spilled all over my desk
One night when I was all but lucid
It created a hell of a mess

This tale is quite short as is the short life
Of my dear old device
But caused a lengthy allotment of strife
Which wasn't very nice

In conclusion it was indeed that spill
That caused my keyboard's fail
The suspicious fluid that made me quite ill
That bloody pint of ale!

My Mute button stopped working once took me opening redtube while SO and friends was in the other room to realise it doesnt work :D

It is never fun when a keyboards keys start to stick... or does not register... Almost threw my keyboard out the window playing Need for Speed Underground...

Never had a good gaming keyboard, would like one though.

Remember back in the day, playing the first AvP game in the dark. My mate sneaking up on me and giving me one hell of a fright when that damn beep came close and I screamed like a little girl and flung the mouse one way and the keyboard the other. Keyboard hitting me in the chin. Was so pissed off, once my heart returned to semi-normal. The douche.

The biggest way my keyboard has let me down before was it's inability to withstand beer. Tasty, addictive beer. How dare it not like it?! It even stopped working altogether, and I had to replace it.... Damn keyboard.

I once played a game and spilled my whisky over my keyboard and it stopped working.

I had no spare one so that was the night for me. :(
