A before and after shot would have been cool. Also wow will you who won? AFAIK the vBulletin poll doesn't allow you to see individual results?
 
I don't know if its just my screen setting but the new design looks a bit weird from my side. The edges of the forum page don't line up, like its a bit out of line. Might just be me being OCD. My Chrome also hates the quick reply function.
 
It seems very clean and all, but follows the look of Gamespot too closely. I honestly believe there is talent in South Africa for innovative web design. The design still feels a bit too cluttered and the different content areas aren't distinguishable enough. I had a hard time finding the poll, only to see it squeezed in between 2 advertisements. The flow of the right-hand content area also seems wasted, as there's a huge space below the last ad.

If you were aiming for a tablet-friendly layout as well, I'd suggest a tile-based layout. E Online has a very nice tile-based layout. This way, you can intermingle ads with the actual site content. It makes for a more flowing layout and "clickable" ads, as quite often the actual advertisement feels like part of the content of the site - great for advertisers obviously.
 
I don't like change but in this case I would make an exception haha. Love the more simplistic modern look the news feels more concentrated somehow well done.

I like it. some change is always good and keeps it fresh. You guys got it right by not making worse than it was which is always a win.

I agree with the other people though. White text on grey background is not very distinctive. At least bold the text.
 
Like the new layout and the larger pics, the only problem now its difficult to get my gaming fix during office hours on my 27" monitor :)
 
Am I the only one who's not bowled over by the new site? MyG has the potential to be THE big South African gaming site with international appeal. At the moment it still comes across as slightly amateurish, but I can see there is major potential. I voted on 2, by the way...

Agreed. The White text on light gray is not very nice.
Also so much wasted space on the sides yet again. Feels like 14" screen page.

Do tell us what Potential you see and how they can make it less amateurish?
