Woo! Load shedding, woo!

We are currently LOAD SHEDDING
Eskom has declared Stage 1 Load Shedding from 17:00 till 22:30.
Time : 18:00 - 22:30 Block 5A
Affected Areas : No City Power Customers will be affected.
CITY POWER will be partially load shedding their areas of supply, due to interventions mitigating load shedding for the City of Johannesburg customers.

Still not sure what City Power (Johannesburg) does, but during stage 1 generally no one is affected. Long may that last :o

Looks like we have a nice schedule this week. Getting a break from the 18:00 - 22:30 cuts at least

Thankfully we'll remain on today regardless of the stage. At least we got a good week's break from load shedding.

So Mr Molefe managed one whole week and a few days before his "promises" and "vows" of no planned loadshedding this winter turned into just another bucket of nonsense media spin hogwash and lies. Or was he talking about winter in the northern hemisphere maybe?

Of course, the use of the term "planned" in all their media is just disingenuous semantics to try and placate the masses. No load shedding event is ever truly planned.

Never planned. Gives me a chuckle every morning on SA News (government news service) when daily they announce that there is no load shedding planned for the day. Frustratingly we know that the odds are heavily stacked in favour of a blackout... :(

I don't know why they dig themselves into these holes with false promises and late announcements.

Especially with load shedding, they don't know for sure, but they can predict what the load demand and load available will be during the evening. As such, they can already in the morning atleast say there is a good chance of Stage1 load shedding the evening. If it doesn't happen, fine, but if it does atleast people knew there was a chance from early in the day.

I mean, I can look at the system status right now and tell you that there is a good chance of Stage1 again tonight.

Got cut as scheduled today, already miss the few days without any outages.

Thankfully we're scheduled for 1am on stage one and two mostly, so we haven't been hit.

*turns on heater*

It's cold in my office :|
