Woo! Load shedding, woo!

We had load shedding or just a normal power outage this morning from about 6 this morning, not sure if the power is on yet but just before 8 when i left our flat it was still off.

Load shedding Stage1 only started at 10:30 this morning, so that might just have been bad luck :/

Ok thanks, i was wondering about that as our area is only due for a blackout between 18:00 - 20:30 or 20:00 - 22:30 (Stage 1)

So i wonder if they are going to LS tomorrow again as today falls outside or their Stage 1 days (Mon, Wed, Fri, So)

We're off 12-14:30 today. Can't really complain, so not in the mood for work. Think I'll take a nap on my desk [emoji14]

@Blazz - that is just another sign to move to cape town :P

As for the rest of you, I feel sorry, I have a friend who cannot even find his area on any map or website! It seems that the Cape is better off :P

So far the app has worked well for me, it sent me a notification when we changed from stage 1 to stage 2 . . Also I love how Cape Town is sorting out the fairness of the heavy schedule that was so outdated.

Cape Town - As of February 1 2015, the City of Cape Town will be implementing a new load shedding schedule as and when load shedding is declared by Eskom.

The current load shedding schedule using the days of the week was first implemented in 2008 and has been regularly updated since. It was designed specifically for occasional load shedding during peak demand times, which has been the norm since 2008.

However, since the latter weeks of last year, Eskom’s national control centre declared load shedding on a regular basis and over weekends. This has led to a situation where some residents repeatedly experienced scheduled power outages at the most inconvenient times and days of the week.

In order to address this matter, the City has set up a new load shedding schedule that provides a more frequent rotation and is to be implemented in accordance with the days of the month instead.

"With this new schedule, the City will ensure that residents always experience scheduled power outages at a different time and weekday than before, thereby rotating the inconvenience of power outages across all supply areas," said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Utility Services, councillor Ernest Sonnenberg.

From February 1 2015 the City will be implementing load shedding according to this new schedule when it is instructed to do so by Eskom.

An insert with the new load shedding schedule and an area map of the different supply areas across the city will be distributed with community newspapers during the last week of January 2015.

Residents are advised to keep these and to refer to the schedule and the map so that they can take the necessary precautions whenever load shedding is required by Eskom.

Furthermore, the new schedule and area map will be published on the City’s website as from February 1 2015 so that residents have immediate access to the latest information.

Also I have been given the new schedule. So anyone who wants the cape town one please pm me

Eskom's load shedding schedule is complete Bulls#@t...

Surely they could at least try get that right so we can attempt to plan ourselves around it.

I don't know what I expected really...

Just had a nice laugh.

Spoke to the person from the City of Tshwane Municipality, just to inquire why our power has been off since 6 AM.

Her response was, there was an issue with load shedding and their technicians are busy looking at it to restore power.

Hopefully we will get some power somewhere tonight.

Sigh going on 8 hours now

Surely that can't be due to load shedding?

Also, I think it's bullshit they load shed after work (after hours). How are we suppose to cook and look after little ones at that time. My son had to have cereal for supper!
