Xbone - Game Questions

I must say, I'm only an hour into Ryse and I am thoroughly impressed!
Despite all the down talk about it, I'm really enjoying it. It is very cinematic and a lot of QTE, but it makes the game as it really all comes down to timing.

When does Forza Horizon 2 actually launch?

All retailers I've looked at are showing different dates, Takealot, BT Games and Raru.

Hammer, I know you're a car nut or more precisely a Forza nut, as am I.

My question is this, why? What about it makes you excited, or what do you get out of it?

Sjo, that's a good question. Let me try and formulate an answer of some sort...

Yes, I am a car nut. I've always been quite drawn to cars. I also know that I may not experience 90% of the cars I covet so much. This is probably why I've always been drawn to racing games. I love that games like Forza gives me the opportunity or experience a particular car, even if it's only through a digital medium. I get to imagine what it would be like driving one of these awe-inspiring creations.

The intro of Forza 5 is probably the best way possible to describe why I love cars so much. The fact that the game starts like that is also the reason why I am drawn more to Forza than any other racing game I've ever played. The game is built with this purpose in mind. You can truly experience than in playing the game.

Here is the intro for those that don't know what I'm talking about.

Well said, and yes, I completely agree. When I saw that video/intro for the first time the other day, I actually got goose bumps.

Now for the second half of the question, what do you enjoy doing in these games? (ie pimping rides, tuning, racing AI, MP, etc)

Believe it or not, most of my time is spent just driving. No races, no goal, no reason, just straight up selecting a car, and taking it to the race track. I love to then discover the little nuances of each race track, and try to push the car to it's limit, within my abilities. I try different racing lines, different breaking points, and now and then I even try a power slide or two.

I do like the racing aspect, and it would be the second most enjoyable part of the game. Tuning and pimping I will dabble in, but never too long, and it's not a selling point for me.

Uh-huh... I could spend hours on one track just trying to beat my own times with the same car. Tune it and then try again. Rinse and repeat. Or even find a rival, and go round and round till I beat their times. Perfecting my tuning for the desired track along with perfecting the best line. I love doing this, especially on a track like Nurburg Nordschlieffe.

I used to play Forza 2 to death, but didn't really get into Forza 3 that much. Suffice to say I never got subsequent Forza games. I AM very tempted to get a new One to try out new-gen Forza games...

Question; How does the charge-and-play controller work?

Does it move away from having to use AA batteries, or do you then just use rechargeable ones?

If it's anything like the 360, it's just a unit that replaces the batteries and the cover completely.

Ok, so it would more than likely be a Li-Ion (or similar), and become more like a PS3/4 controller ?

Sorry for the stupid question but with my 360 the AA batteries lasted ages, obviously with a more demanding controller, this is not the case.
