I wish I could afford both but I simply can not.The reason I went ps4 is my preference in there first party games and getting more bang for your buck in the hardware department it is why I bought a 360 first last gen it just made sense to buy the most capable console first and the ps3 was way overpriced when it launched.

I think if i had both consoles one would just sit and gather dust... One console and my PC is more than enough for me... At the moment im pretty hooked on Blizzard with Diablo, Hearthstone, and recently decided to give Starcraft a go, so my PS4 is feeling a little neglected... If i had another console I think I would feel pretty stupid...

Yeah, unless you're Wlad, who plays 5-10 games at the same time. :D

You make a good point about having time for all the consoles you own but also the cost in buying all the games for the different consoles being a gamer is becoming increasingly hard in this country with the price of games these days.

Yeah, with a household of the following; Gaming PC / PS3 / PS4 / Xbox One

It's no surprise that one may not get as much attention as another. I just find I'm almost exclusively playing on with the PS4/XO. I've almost lost interest in PC gaming (at least for the time being).

I have way too many gaming systems to devote enough time to each of them. Out of those two it would be PS4 for the better specs on games and exclusives like bloodborne, uncharted 4 etc... Honestly though my PS4 is super dusty, I have been gaming mostly on PC because there are so many new releases for it and it plays games at a higher graphics level (games being cheaper also help).

I chose Xbox One because of Forza and Sunset Over drive. Xbox live is far superior to PS+ functionality wise not free games wise. I will get one or the other when they are priced under R3000.00

Otherwise its PC till then.

XB1, but only because I've already got a XBox 360, and I feel I need to be loyal... :p

But really I do like the whole XBox Live setup more. But I would like the PS4 exclusives more...

That being said, I play mainly on PC, so the Xbox 360 isn't getting a lot of love lately, except for getting to download the odd free Game with Gold for me to get around to later.

Lol, I can't help it. I have very short attention span and can only play a specific game for about 2 hours, give or take an hour, at a time before I start to get bored with it. There are exceptions of course; at the moment I am pretty much only playing Borderlands Pre-Sequel (except for jumping between a few games to see how they perform on my recently upgraded PC), but I want to start a new Witcher 2 playthrough as well now that my PC can handle it better.

I am going to go with the ps 4. But honestly those games are so damn expensive :O

Ya unfortunately you cant get around that no matter which way you go...

You can just wait till the prices come down. Remember paying close to that for ps 2 games when it first came out got silent hill 2 collectors edition for R800

PS4: Great gaming console with media playing capabilities*1

XBONE: Great media player with gaming capabilities*2

*1 When applicable update has been made to the system to allow media playback.
*2 When applicable update has been made from Multichoice to allow integrated TV functions.

My stance on the XB1 vs. PS4 - If you owned any of the previous gen consoles then get the successor, you will feel at home with it. Even if you choose to switch it up you will not be disappointed.

Well said Glordit. Nice to see another person not taking a typical fanboy approach.

I own an xbox 360 and a ps3, so I guess it means I would feel at home with either. I'm still leaning towards the PS4 though, I'm more after a gaming console than a media player, although it does bug me that it doesn't have DLNA support. At least you can play Netflix on them, and these days we don't even have normal TV anymore, all our TV is Netflix and Hulu Plus played through the consoles.

My 1000% unbiased opinion is and will for ever remain 'If the XBONE came out before the PS4 I would have gotten that, but because the PS4 launched almost a year before the XBONE I was not willing to wait that long for a console, I bought a PS4 and am super happy with it. I wish to own a XBONE at some stage as well simply to play the exclusives, and my PS4 will remain my primary gaming system. The reverse would have happened if I bought a XBONE.'

Next week see's the release of Update 2.0 which is a start with support for MP3 playback via USB devices, so I can assume DLNA support is not far behind.
