oh boy
Have we not learnt that emulation isn't that great ?Microsoft has also assured gamers that the new chip should have no compatibility issues with existing or future software, as it will “implement a latency and bandwidth that will impersonate the old system which worked with separate CPU and GPU processorsâ€. Like DOSBox.
I wonder if you can have your existing xbox upgraded?
There is a vast difference between emulation (bad) and providing an identical interface (good).Have we not learnt that emulation isn't that great ?
contains about 372 million transistors which are very less in comparison to modern GPUs
will implement a latency and bandwidth that will impersonate the old system
Short answer; no.I wonder if you can have your existing xbox upgraded?
That all nice and stuff Microsoft, but until you don't do something DRASTIC with the storage (ie: DVD -> BlueRay), the XB360 will start suffering hard under some of the newer titles...
When you say suffering do you mean swapping discs?
Sure, lets stick that on the list too!
As it is, games are just getting bigger. Having such an extremely limited optical medium on a console forces developers to downscale things (eventually). Harder compression needs to be applied, causing longer load times and mid-play stuttering, etc.
It will just become a real impossibility to package a modern game into the space of 1DVD or even 2 or 3 - soon...
If this gets rid of the RROD I might consider buying one again.
