Xbox 360 VS PS3

PS3 is much better value than the Xbox, what exactly makes the Xbox better value? There isn't even proper Live support in SA, also the retail game prices for both PS3 and Xbox games are more or less the same.

There is a thriving PS3 community in SA where games are traded and sold for great prices and then you go on saying its Lagging behind PC's? Geez, fanboy of note.

We can all agree they're great machines but stuff you stated makes no sense to me at all

Actually if you read my post properly it does make sense...
R 3299.95 for a xbox R 3699.95 for a ps3 (On kalahari) And I'll admit the ps3 is a better machine, but it doesn't really matter when xbox still manages to look slightly (hardly though) better than the ps3 [This going on Gamespots latests graphics comparison]

And i didnt say there wasn't a thriving ps3 community ... i said the xbox market is larger.

and my pc statement was just comment on the few last games i've played on both pc and console and found it looks noticeably better on pc. i may be a fanboy, but i'm a fan of PS3, Xbox, and PC.

Laugh all you want, its meant to be a debate. Take my goggles off? the PS3 is much better value for money? you didnt seem to give much of an argument for this.

and why bring up PC in the first place when this is a console section.

If its meant to be a debate bring up the pro's and cons of each.

This argument has been done many times before, even Tinman posted articles on it.

If you want me to list the value features of the PS3:
Free Online
Blu-Ray player
Built in Wi-FI
Rechargable Controllers
Purchase from PSN with CC as well as vouchers that can be bought from Btgames, Take2 etc.
Download demos and DLC with local cap

All for a measly R400 more than an Elite model
 
Hey i thought Solidus and I were playing nice .... if i came across a bit brash, I'm sorry Solidus.

Its one of those debates though.... kind of like do you like you eggs sunny side up or not .... there will always be people on both sides of the fence....

I was on the PS3 side of the fence when it came out.... but slowly i've moved to the xbox side... even though i would much rather support a non-microsoft product.... really hoping sony's next console is amaxing.
 
The PS3 is good value for money if you want to use it for more than gaming :)

I personally get everything I need out of my Xbox, except for local Live support (which would be nice), so I see no reason to own a PS3 too. That, and the PS3 exclusives don't interest me personally.
 
Pros vs cons

I agree, give a list of pros and cons. I'm about to buy a console and could do with more opinions. Since there seem to be more support for the xbox, why? I like the fact that the ps3 can ply blu-ray discs, it make the console more versitle

It all depends on the games you intend to play. Look at the exclusives, find out which ones you will most likely to play and decide from there. Both titles have some sweet exclusives but some people prefer gears of war to Uncharted and Halo to Killzone. Its all down to personal choice. PS3 has local online support, xbox does not. Xbox has game score, ps3 has trophies but no score.

Look at all the options and then decide.
 
Also, just take what you hear with a pinch of salt. Some guys are like robots & spew the same garbage out & have been for the past 3 years.

Don't take what fanboys say too seriously. Omega seems to be pretty objective & summed it up well about personal choice. I also went for the more "versatile" choice & I am happy.

Well i found the PS3 dashboard a nightmare to navigate but that could be coz ive been using my xbox for so long.

Got PS3 after selling off my Xbox...problem is most of my mates have X's...not good if you wanna swop games, but I'd get PS3 for sure. Like Dave Chapelle said: "did adds for Pepsi and Coke...did Coke more recently, so it tastes better" :)

Thats pretty much what i thought, that it come's done to personal tastes and which game you like to play. I have an ps2 and really like gran turismo, so are leaning toward the ps3. However, i have'nt played forza 3, so that might change my mind...

Dont let just one game dedicate you choice. Its alot of money to base on the decision of one game.
 
To be honest now days you need both consoles. For the exclusives on the PS3 alone, Bluray if you into R300 a movie, and the xbox360 for the exclusives and multiplatform titles...

Wait, what?
"Need both" is a little extreme and rather costly :)

I will be getting myself a ps3 with a 24 to 26" LCD eventually for the following reasons:
Uncharted 1 & 2
God of War(s)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 & 2
Infamous
MGS4
Valkyria Chronicles
+ a few multi-platform games that did not make it to the PC *shakes fist*
